In a bid to boost rural economy, modern showrooms of C-Mart are to be opened in Chhattisgarh’s cities to market products manufactured in the state’s villages.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wants products made by self-help groups, weavers, artisans and Cottage industries to be on sale at these showrooms.

Officials have been told to set up C-Mart like a modern showroom, with all the amenities to attract customers.

In the first phase, the showrooms will come up on 8-10,000 square feet in case of municipal corporations and on 6-8,000 square feet in the case of municipalities in all district headquarters.

Baghel has directed District Collectors to coordinate with the Managing Director of the Minor Forest Produce Association to make arrangements to process, pack, brand and market the products.
