Haryana to enlist Rs 1.2 crore for free healthcare by year end: Manohar Lal Khattar

Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has launched a state-wide campaign, Chirayu Haryana, under which the government has raised the annual income eligibility cap for theAyushmanBharat scheme to Rs 1.8 lakh from Rs 1.2 lakh.

UnderChirayu Haryana, people with an annual income of up to Rs 1.8 lakh can enrol and avail all benefits offered by the Centres Ayushman Bharat scheme, he said in Manesar.

Under both initiatives, Haryana aims to issue golden cards to a total of 1.2 crore recipients by the end of this year, the CM added. By December 5, we should cover 10 lakh beneficiaries under Chirayu Haryana. With this card, family members of recipients can get free treatment costing up to Rs 5 lakh. The scheme also covers around 1,500 treatment procedures and operation expenses, Khattar said.

Under the scheme, people from the economically weaker section can avail healthcare treatment as well as coverage of three days of pre-hospitalization and 15 days of post-hospitalization expenses. Around 600 golden cards were distributed in Manesar and two more sites in Gurugram on Monday the Freedom Fighter zila parishad hall in Gurugrams Civil Lines and the Pataudi government hospital.
