In a bid to bring various Insurance schemes under one umbrella, the Manohar Lal Khattar Government in Haryana has established Haryana Pariwar Suraksha Nyas.
The Trust has been formed to consolidate lakhs of beneficiaries of the existing insurance schemes of various Government departments under one roof to avoid duplication of beneficiaries, effective implementation of schemes and saving additional cost to the state exchequer.
A State Governments notification issued on Wednesday stated, The Governor of Haryana is pleased to establish Haryana Pariwar Suraksha Nyas under the provisions of the Indian Trust Act, 1862, as amended from time and time.
The terms and conditions for the functioning of the Trust are yet to be notified by the .
The objective of establishing the Trust is to ensure that there is no duplication of insurance schemes and beneficiaries in the state. At present, budgets for such schemes are allocated to different departments and rationalization of such schemes will also help the government save additional cost to the state exchequer. The State Government pays crores of rupees as premium under such insurance schemes annually yet many eligible beneficiaries could not avail the benefits.
Notably, the State Government had earlier launched Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) initiative to give benefits of the schemes and Services being given by various departments. About 64 lakh families in the state have been registered in the PPP to get a single unique family ID to avail benefits under government schemes and services.
