Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday said that a first-of-its-kind heli-hub will be set up in Gurugram, where many aviation facilities will be available like heliport, hangars, repairs and other related services.

This heli-hub will be the first of its kind in the country to have all the above facilities at one place for helicopters, the Deputy Chief Minister said after presiding over a meeting of senior officers of Civil Aviation Department, HSIIDC, Town and Country Planning and other departments.

It was informed that the work is being done expeditiously on preparing the Maharaja Agrasen Airport being built in Hisar and other projects related to the DEFENCE sector. Recently, directions were given regarding construction of alternate route from Barwala road, demolition of multipurpose hall, new boundary wall in place of old boundary wall of airport, shifting of Bpcl gas bottling plant, removal of sheds built near the airport, construction of new hangars and apron in the airport premises, construction of runway on Dhansu road, removal of power poles and lines at the construction site and establishment of 33 kilowatt sub-station. Direction has also been issued to complete the demolition of Observation Home to ensure on- time construction of the terminal and other building construction.
