Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the exemption which was given by the Union Environment Ministry to industrial units running in areas of as many as eight districts coming under national capital region, for getting environment clearance will continue. The exemption will be applicable to industrial units where there is no access to pipe supply of CNG, PNG, and LPG, said the Chief Minister after meeting with the Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav. He also discussed various issues regarding the environment and ESI hospital of Haryana.

Khattar said that environmental clearance would also be given to 15 long-established formaldehyde industrial units so that those industrial units could uninterruptedly run their operations. Notably, coal and other conventional energy sources would now be replaced with CNG, PNG and LPG in industrial units located in national capital region districts. CNG, PNG, and LPG pipeline supply has not yet reached eight district areas of Haryana coming under NCR, and with the decision of continuation of exemption given to industrial units, now these units too will be able to get CNG, PNG, and LPG supply.
