Gujarat Tableau Showcased Pal Dadhvav Martyrs

The Gujarat Tableau featured the carnage in Pal and Dadhvav at the 73rd Republic Day Parade.

Highlights:

In 1922, a massacre occurred. During the tragedy, around 1,200 tribals were mercilessly murdered by British soldiers.

Motilal Tejawat, a tribal leader, addressed 10,000 Bhil tribals on March 7, 1922.

These tribals were from the Dadhvav village and were members of the Eki movement (now Sabarkantha district in Gujarat).

The protesters were against the British government’s introduction of regulations connected to Jagirdar, land , and the Rajwada.

Major H.G.Sutton gave the firing order. The Police killed more than 1,200 persons due to the order.

Pal Dadhvav Martyrs is the name given to this occurrence. The region’s wells were brimming with the bodies of indigenous people.

Dudhiya Kuva and Dhekhadiya Kuva were the names of the wells. Tejawat managed to flee the carnage.
