lakh bales (one bale is equivalent to 170kg) less than around 97 lakh bales output predicted in its November estimate. The states production stood at 91.5 lakh bales in 2020-21. Close to 34 lakh bales have already arrived in local mandis of Gujarat, the association said.
For pan-India, CAI has reduced its cotton crop estimate for the 2021-22 season by 12 lakh bales to 348 lakh bales from its previous estimate of 360 lakh bales.
