TheJharkhandgovernment has decided to rope in theNational Geographic Channel(NGC) to promote the state internationally as a tourist destination. The cabinet on Thursday gave its nod to a proposal in this regard made by the state information and public relations department. TheNGCwill make four documentaries worth Rs 2.37 crore on Jharkhand under the agreement.
The four documentaries will have specific topics such as wildlife, adventure, people and culture and pristine Jharkhand. The exercise is aimed at highlighting the state on the global stage.
In another decision, the cabinet gave its nod to convene the winter session of the assembly from December 16 till December 22 The session will have five working days. The cabinet also gave its approval to the extension of the tenure of theJharkhand Textile and Footwear Policy 2016till August 18 next year and constituted an expert committee comprising finance secretary,SLBCs state convenor andNabardgeneral manager to identify banks in which the can open its accounts for the policy.
