Assamchief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the has decided to increase theforest coverof Assam from 36% to 38% in the coming five years by way of large-scale plantations.
The seminar is being attended by judges of Supreme Court and chief Justice of several high courts. Sarma said the government has strengthened and increased Network“>Protected Area Network by upgrading reserve forests to national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.
