TheChhattisgarhgovernment has decided to give financial assistance of Rs 20,000 each to the first two daughters of labourer families for their Education, EMPLOYMENT and marriage.
Chief ministerBhupesh Baghelhad announced the scheme on Republic Day. To apply under Noni Sashaktikaran Sahayata Yojana, a labourer must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh and registered with the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Only adult, unmarried daughters of labourers can avail of the scheme.
Besides, one or both parents of the girl should be registered with the labour board for at least a year. The dependent daughter, for whom the application will be filed, should not be registered as a beneficiary with any other department or BOC board, said officials.
The can be used for education of daughters, employment, skill upgrade, self-employment, and marriage.
The scheme is a step towards making Women self-reliant, said officials of the labour department. The financial assistance will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of the daughters.
