wo days after Bihar Cabinet approved its own ethanol policy, called Ethanol Production Promotion Policy, 2021, the state department formally launched the policy in presence of prospective investors.
The new policy would permit ethanol production in Bihar from all feed stocks permitted by National Policy on Biofuels, 2018, and subsequently by the National Biofuel Co-ordination Committee.
Introducing the policy to investors, industry minister Shahnawaz Hussain said that once these factories start functioning, no foodgrains will be wasted as the new ethanol promotion policy allows investors to directly make ethanol from maize, molasses, broken rice and rotten grains.
