Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain on Friday told officials to take necessary steps for effective implementation, monitoring and coordination to establish C-Marts in each district headquarter across the state.
An official Communication said that at a meeting of the empowered committee, Collectors were told to enlist and prepare details of the Self-Help Groups, weavers, artisans and Cottage industries of their districts whose products would be on sale at the showrooms of C-Marts.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need to properly commercially market the products made in rural areas, the communication said.
On the occasion, the Managing Director of the Minor Forest Produce Federation, Dr Sanjay Shukla, said the C-Marts would be opened in cities to market the products manufactured in the villages.
The objective is to boost the rural economy, he said.
It should be equipped with all the amenities for proper showcasing of the products to attract customers, he said.
The Marketing of these products would be done on the lines of the system developed for the products of Chhattisgarh Herbals brand, he added.
