Efforts to improve condition of girl child in MP

Efforts are on to improve the condition of girls in the state. The central and state governments are making efforts to ensure that the girl child moves forward with confidence without any fear. Many schemes are being run keeping in mind their betterment and bright future. Through this, there is an improvement in the sex ratio by curbing female feticide.

The economic condition is also being improved by giving benefits related to Education, Health Services and Scholarship. Now sons and daughters are equal for families. They are also trying to provide golden opportunities to the girl child.

The is running schemes like Ladli Laxmi Yojana, Beti Bachao Abhiyan, Lado Abhiyan, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Shaurya Dal for the all-round development of daughters. With the passage of time, now the positive results of these schemes are being seen. There is a change in the Attitude of the Society towards daughters. The sex ratio is getting better. The condition of girl child education is also improving now than before. The decrease in the cases of child marriage is a setback on many problems.

There is a positive change in the sex ratio figures in the state. According to NFHS-4, the sex ratio in the state was 927, which has increased to 956 in NFHS-5. The situation is changing especially in areas with low sex ratio like Gwalior, Chambal and Bundelkhand. In these areas, once a festival was celebrated on the birth of a son, now drums resonate on the birth of daughters.

According to NFHS-4, the Percentage of child marriage in the state was 32.3, which has come down to 23.1 in NFHS-5. This situation shows improvement as girls getting married at an early age remain illiterate. There is a bad effect on their body and health, so differently.
