Earlier this week, both houses of theRussian parliament ratified treatiesmaking the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions part of Russia.

The formalities followed Kremlin-orchestrated referendums in the four regions that Ukraine and the West have rejected as a sham.
