Draft plan for low-carbongrowth by 2023, says govt

Addressing a workshop on Low carbon building in Bihar organised by theBiharState Pollution Control Board (BSPCB) as part of the larger initiative under the study of Climate resilient and low carbon development pathway for Bihar, Singh said even as the government of India has set the target of achieving zero carbon by 2070, Bihar has fixed its target for 2040.

He explained the initiatives of the State Government on low carbon strategy planned by the year 2040 in detail and said the state is working with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to prepare the draft plan. He said the building sector needs to be addressed on a priority basis in order to minimize Carbon Emission.
