CM Jagan to lay stone for projects worth 1.8k cr

The is planning to conduct a ground-breaking/inauguration ceremony for 28 projects worth 1.93 lakh crore Investment potential in the next two months. As part of this, chief minister YS JaganMohanReddy will lay a foundation stone for six projects worth 1,775 crore on June 22.

It may be recalled that the government conducted the global investors summit (GIS) on March 2 and 3 in Visakhapatnam. TheGIS, the state government declared, drew 387 investment proposals/MoUs worth 13.12 lakh crore with an EMPLOYMENT creation potential for six lakh people.

According to government, 14 projects have already commenced their commercial operations in the state. These 14 projects have started their businesses with 2,749 crore investment, creating employment for 7,108 persons. Meanwhile, 106 more projects are under active construction/ready for ground-breaking with an investment of 3.7 lakh crore with a potential to create employment for 2,13,513 people. If all these turn into reality, this will be 29% of investment realisation of the GIS MoUs and 35% of employment generation. According to the government officials, the other projects are in various stages of implementation such as land allotment, approvals in progress, detailed project preparation, financial closures, etc.
