Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel gave in-principle Consent for implementation of the Revamped Distribution Sector (RDS) scheme in the state. He sought additional time for payment of electricity subsidy.
Besides the development of new power under the scheme, action will be taken to upgrade and strengthen the existing infrastructure.
Under the scheme, installation of smart meters for every consumer, except the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture consumers, will be ensured.
The Central government has set December 31 as the deadline for submission of a detailed project report. The estimated cost of the scheme is Rs 9,600 crores, which is targeted to be completed by March 2025.
