Chief minister Hemant Soren has askedAdani Powerto adhere to the terms of the MoU signed with the for the commissioning of theGodda power plant. Talking to the managing director of theAdani group, Rajesh Adani, at the state secretariat here on Friday, Soren said Adani Power was supposed to provide 25% of the power produced at its Godda plant, which has started operations, to the state at a cheaper rate.
In February 2016, the state government and the Adani Group signed an MoU for the Godda power plant.
Under its policy, the state is entitled to buy 25% of the power produced by any thermal power project built within the state. In the matter of the Godda plant, the Adani Group promised to provide 25% of the power amounting to 400MW to the state government from any other source and not from the Godda plant, the entire power from which is supposed to be sold to Bangladesh.
