Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat announced that all ponds and water bodies situated in all villages and near villages, which are recorded in revenue records will be revived in the next one year. Climate budgeting will be started in the state to mainstream works related to climate change in the financial year 2022-23. Rawat said this after planting a Jamun sapling at his residence at GMS Road in Dehradun on the occasion of World Environment Day.

The CM appealed to the citizens to plant trees to contribute their bit for environmental conservation. Stating that protection of the Environment is related to the life of the common man, he said that environmental conservation is a . Referring to this years World Environment Day theme of ecosystem restoration, he said that special focus will have to be laid on tree plantation and environmental protection to decrease rising pollution levels along with checking the rising pressure on the ecosystem.
