Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that it is my priority to make the lives of path vendors easy in urban and rural areas in the state. Important steps have been taken to ensure well-being of small street vendors and strengthen their life base. With the speed with which Madhya Pradesh has ensured the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Rin Yojana, the state is top in the country.

In this series, the Chief Minister Rural Street-Vendors Scheme which was started in Madhya Pradesh to facilitate the lives of street vendors have brought positive results. Under the scheme, small street vendors of rural areas have also been provided interest-free loan of Rs 10,000 to upgrade their work. The has given the credit guarantee. Also, the loan process has been exempted from stamp duty. Chief Minister Chouhan informed that WORKING CAPITAL of Rs 10,000 per beneficiary has been provided to about 5.50 lakh urban and rural street vendors in the state.

Chouhan said that this scheme is being reviewed in Collectors-Commissioners Conference every month. Instructions have been issued to district authorities to ensure that no eligible person remains deprived of the benefits of the scheme in both urban and rural areas. Instructions have been given to conduct campaigns in every district to provide benefits to the beneficiaries and give results. Last month, about 13 lakh applications were received under the Chief Minister Rural Street-Vendor Loan Scheme. Ever since the portal has ben activated, this number has been constantly increasing.
