Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that there is a need to advance the tribal population in the field of education and employment and also provide it with better medical facilities. Their land is important in the survival of the tribals. There is a need to act according to the changing times. The decrease in the population of tribals has to be stopped. For this concrete measures are needed. Priority should be given to resolve pending issues at the earliest in the interest of tribals, he said.

The Chief Minister said that if different areas would be developed, only then Jharkhand can be raised in the category of a leading State. To give a separate identity to the State, the role of tribals has to be decided. The council will prove to be helpful in preparing a better action plan for the tribal community. Special thinking needs to be done for the 27 per cent tribals of Jharkhand, their social, economic, educational and political aspects will have to be strengthened. To make tribals a part of the all-round development of the State, many parameters have to be fixed. Suggestions of all the members will play an important role in this. Together we have to connect the tribal community with the mainstream of development in a planned manner, he said.
