He said Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to procure cow dung and convert it into a profit.
He was virtually addressing the event of online transfer of the against procurement of cow dung from cattle owners and farmers and its dividend to Women self-help groups and gauthan committees.
A total of Rs 5.33 crores was transferred on Wednesday. Since the launch of the scheme, Rs 100.82 crores have been paid to the beneficiaries, an official Communication said.The Chief Minister called for collectors to constantly review the need for maintenance, repair and construction works of Gauthans.He said apart from vermicompost, at a few centres gobar gas (bio-gas) is being produced and supplied to houses. Therefore, it will be a major achievement if studies show that power can be produced from cow dung.
