After the popularity of Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Schools, the Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday decided to establish at least one Hindi Medium School of excellence in each district.
A total of 32 new schools of Hindi medium will come into existence from the coming academic session, a government statement said.
The buildings of the earmarked schools will be refurbished and the schools would be transformed not only qualitatively but aesthetically too.
The schools named after Swami Atmanand will be upgraded into multipurpose schools, the statement said.
At present 171 English medium schools are functioning across the state with 74,000 students. A total of three such English schools have been started in the capital city.
The establishment of these schools proved to be grand success. Earlier, only 57 children were studying in Raipurs RD Tiwari School (Hindi) but after upgrading it as Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School, it has 1,000 students.
The children admitted to these schools are from economically weak families. The government bears the entire cost of the fees, books and uniforms of students.
