Prioritizing toilet over tablet to the school students, the Chhattisgarh government has decided to develop a toilet each at schools of Gram Panchayat in villages and at ward level in across the state.
Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain at a meeting of the state-level monitoring-cum-implementation committee for Samagra Shiksha and MidDay Meal on Tuesday made this announcement.
The meeting was held at Mahanadi Bhavan in Nava Raipur.
The Chief Secretary instructed that toilets to be constructed under the movement Tablet Se Pahle Toilet should be of good quality. Proper arrangements of running water and Drainage System should be made.
Maintaining regular cleanliness and arranging their maintenance should be done.
The arrangements had to be made prior to the start of the new academic session 2022-23, he said.
The meeting also approved annual work-plan worth Rs 3456.98 crore under Samagra Shiksha and Rs 696.18 crore under Mid Day Meal for the academic year 2022-23.
