Based on a notification issued by the Union Ministry of Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, the Chhattisgarh government has restricted the use of herbicide glyphosate in view of the danger to the Health of humans and animals.
The Restriction Order 2022 on the use of glyphosate states that no person except Pest Control Operators shall use glyphosate and its from the date of last publication in the Official Gazette, an official Communication said on Wednesday.
Action will be taken under the Insecticide Act if anyone is found storing and distributing the product.
The certificate will be stamped for inclusion of a warning and leaflet in bold letters Permit the use of glyphosate through Pest Control Operators.
If the registration certificate is not stamped within three months, action shall be taken under the Insecticides Act, 1968.
