Cgarh committed to ensure livelihood to tribals: Minister

Forest and https://exam.pscnotes.com/Climate-change”>Climate Change Minister Mohammad Akbar on Sunday said the number of Minor Forest Produces procured at support price has been increased from seven to 61.

This has been done in the interest of forest dwellers who are dependent on these products for their livelihoodon the MFPs, the Minister said.

In a span of just three years, the Chhattisgarh government has increased the number of minor forest produce to be purchased at support price to 61, he said.

The new additions to the list include ‘Harra Bal’, ‘Mahua Phool Kacha’ (Food Grade), ‘Jhadu Chhind’ (Grass), Kodo, Kutki (Black), Kutki (Brown), Ragi, ‘Amchur’ (white) and ‘Amchur’ (brown).

The support price of Harra Bal has been fixed at Rs 30, Mahua flower raw (food grade) at Rs 10, Broom ‘Chhind’ (grass) at Rs 15, Kodo at Rs 30, Kutki (black) at Rs 30, Kutki (brown) at Rs 30, Ragi at Rs 33.77, Amchur (white) at Rs 120 and Amchur (brown) at Rs 80 per kg.
