The government has approved the country’s largest ever hydropower project in the region bordering China as it seeks to build renewable generation to meet rising power demand.
It has approved the estimated of $3.9 billion for the 2,880-megawattDibangproject inArunachal Pradesh, hydropower producer NHPC Ltd said on Monday. The project is likely to be completed in nine years.
