Backward areas to be focused in upcoming budget

Government of Jharkhand has started preparing the budget estimate for the next financial year 2023-24. Along with this, the revised estimate for 2022-23 is also being prepared. Finance Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh has also written a letter to the departments in this regard and asked them to prepare budget estimates.

Referring to the economic survey of the financial year 2021-22 published by the Planning cum Finance Department Singh said that there is a need to identify such areas by the departments which are still backward in terms of development. He said that while preparing the budget, the departments are expected to prepare relevant plans for the development of such backward areas and prepare a proper budget for those plans. The budget estimate will be on the basis of sanctioned post and working force.

Singh has clarified that in the last financial years, the fiscal space of the state has been consolidated due to the circumstances caused by COVID-19. The State is now recovering from the effects of the pandemic, but Resources are still limited. In such a situation keeping in view the limited resources, the budget for the financial year 2023-24 should be prepared, he added.

From the financial year 2017-18, the budget in Jharkhand is being prepared by dividing it into four categories which is establishment receipts, establishment expenditure. In the scheme under Central assistance, the schemes running in the current financial year under the Central Sector Scheme, Centrally Sponsored Scheme and State Scheme and the new scheme will focus on income-expenditure in revenue receipt. Transport, land revenue, excise tax etc. Royalty, dividends earned from public undertakings, interest on government borrowings and income of departments from other sources will be included.

UP implementing AMRUT projects on a war footing

The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme, which was launched to provide and facilities in cities and towns, is being implemented on a war footing in Uttar Pradesh as out of 279 projects sanctioned for the state, 211 have been completed at a cost of Rs 5,288.29 crore.

Under the water supply scheme, 8.40 lakh domestic connections have been given while the work on 2.04 lakh connections is still pending. At the same time, a target of 8.38 lakh connections has been set for sewer connections, out of which 5.73 lakh domestic connections have been given and 2.65 lakh connections are in progress.

Honouring peoples demand, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, declared the holy Soron Sukar area in Kasganj district as a place of pilgrimage.

The Chief Minister’s Office gave this information by tweeting about the fulfillment of this decade-old demand of Sanatan dharma followers. With the protection of this ancient and holy shrine as a pilgrimage, it will be easier to renovate many small temples coming under it, the tweet said.

A top government official said that along with this, Chakratirtha, Yogatirtha, Suryatirtha, Somtirtha and Sakotkatirtha would also be benefited. Besides development, new sources of EMPLOYMENT will also be available to the locals by their being declared a pilgrimage site of Soron Sukar area.

Soron Sukar area is located in Braj Kshetra in Kasganj and the importance of the area has been mentioned in various . It is believed that in the Soron Sukar region, Shri Barah is the place of Nirvana of Lord Vishnu, and the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The Kund (Haripadi Ganga) in Soron Sukar area is the same place from where Lord Shri Barah ascended to heaven and since then the ashes are immersed in this pool after death.

Soron Sukar region is also considered as a pilgrimage centre for salvation. With the efforts of the Yogi government, there has been a lot of development in the last four and a half years especially in religious tourism, spiritual and mythological activities in and around Soron.

MSME push turned UP youth from jobseekers to job providers: CM Yogi Adityanath

Aiming to create more jobs in the state, theUttar Pradeshgovernment organised a mega loan mela on Thursday in which banks have pledged to disburse loans worth Rs 2.95 lakh crore to various MSME units in the state. Speaking on the occasion, chief ministerYogi Adityanathsaid that the MSME push through the ODOP scheme and other policy decisions turned youth in UP from jobseekers to job providers.

The CM said that when he took charge of the state, he got the legacy of a virtually dead MSME sector.

The combined effect of right policy and hard work put in by MSME unit owners had made UP a land of job providers rather than that of jobseekers,” the CM said. He also said that UP’s credit-debit (CD) ratio has improved from 46% in 2017 to 53% in 2022. He urged the banks to encourage the young MSMEs and start-ups so that the CD ratio touches the 60% mark at the end of 2027.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch Women Entrepreneurs Empowerment Helpline at Lok Bhawan under the ongoing Vikas Utsav programme organised by the state government on Wednesday.

Along with this, development training to 75,000 Women will also start on this occasion and free cooking gas connections will also be distributed to women under Ujjwala 2.0.

He said that the chief minister would launch Women Entrepreneur Empowerment Helpline number 1800 2012 6844 in the programme.

Women entrepreneurs will be able to get all information related to MSME and the possibilities of self-EMPLOYMENT and entrepreneurship through this helpline number.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, said the state government had taken an initiative to link education to society in real terms down to the grassroots level and this was a new beginning to strengthen the foundation of the social system of the country.

The decision to make universities adopt villages for the treatment of tuberculosis (TB) patients, both adults and children, would further create a healthy and educated India. He said the government was committed to the treatment of the weaker sections, especially those who were suffering from major diseases.

Praising Anganwadis, Yogi Adityanath said the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic was successfully controlled and the credit to this went to Anganwadis and the medical warriors of the state. He said the government had given priority to vaccination of all Health workers and this was one of the reasons that the impact of the second wave was controlled.

MSMEs get Rs 20,000 crore, to create 17 lakh jobs

In a fresh leg-up to the state’s medium, small and micro enterprises (MSMEs), loans to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore were disbursed.

The payout would fund over 3.41 lakh new projects that promise to create 17 lakh jobs in the state.

Lauding the move, announced at an event to mark International MSME day, Chief MinisterYogi Adityanathsaid: “The MSME units in the state are the source of livelihood for crores of people. An additional 7.5 lakh youths would benefit from the PM and CM internship schemes running in the state.”

Whenever MSME and ODOP are mentioned in the country today, the name ofUttar Pradeshcomes in the mind of people,” the CM said.

UP first state to fully vaccinate 16cr people

Uttar Pradeshachieved a major milestone by becoming the first state in the country to fully vaccinate over 16 crore individuals.

In nearly 20 days after crossing the landmark of fully vaccinating 15 crore people, the state crossed another significant milestone with 16,02,66,806 individuals receiving both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The most populous state has so far administered over 33.92 crore doses. Besides, the state has also achieved the landmark of administering the first dose to 100% of the eligible adult Population while nearly 99% of the population is fully vaccinated.
UP had started administering booster (precaution) doses from January 10 and nearly 35.22 lakh doses have been administered since.

The is providing vaccination to all children between 12 to 17 years of age in a time-bound manner. So far, over 2,60,80,643 doses have been administered to children in the 15-17 age group and over 1,37,51,108 to the children in the 12-14 age group.

Uttar Pradesh: Yogi government to give free saplings to farmers

The state cabinet on Friday approved free distribution of saplings to government departments, farmers and others who would participate in the ‘Vriksharopan Janaandolan’ 2021, the title given to the state’s annual plantation drive this year when a total of 30 crore trees would be planted inUttar Pradeshin July.

The plantation would be done following the Corona protocol. The date when the trees would be planted is yet to be decided. Sources in the forest department said the letter from the government is awaited. The plantation drive will start in the first week of July which is celebrated asVan Mahotsavin the country.

‘s emphasis is more on the environmentally significant trees and the ones that boost immunity like Peepal, Banyan, Pakar, Sahjan, Mahua, Neem, Aonla, Mango and other desi varieties along with the ones that find mention in the religious and mythological scriptures. This time, at least 30 tree species that find mention in the Valmiki Ramayan will be planted. These are the ones that still are found in the state and can be grown in the given conditions of Soil and Climate.

The state government had distributed free saplings to farmers in 2019 and 2020 as well. Poplar and Eucalyptus were excluded last year also. In the last two years, the state has planted 22 crore and 25 crore trees respectively. Forest department has a separate budget for plantation while other government departments do not have a separate allocation for plantation and that is the reason why the forest department would give free saplings to the departments.
The plantation drive is one of the ways of the government to help farmers’ create an additional Source Of Income. By planting timber-yielding, fruit bearing or fodder-giving varieties farmers can earn an extra income. The demands of the farmers have already been recorded at every gram panchayat level and they will be given the saplings accordingly.

Uttar Pradesh: Smart solar shops to empower self-help groups

The UP government said that it has rolled out the Prerna Ojas project of the state rural livelihoods mission under which Women self-help groups (SHGs) are enabled to makesolar lampsfor children.

The opportunity will lead to economic and Empowerment“>Social Empowerment of rural women folk through Smart Solar Shops and also help in providing solar power for the benefit of children in remote areas.

Earlier, the had distributed over 28 lakh solar lamps made by 4,000 women to school children in 75 blocks of over 30 districts in the state. The initiative is helping children in a great way in pursuing Education, besides making women self-reliant. The women, according to the state government, have been earning a fair amount of Money ranging from Rs 8,000-Rs 10,000 per month.
