After bringing record investment in the electronics manufacturing sector in Uttar Pradesh, now the state government is determined to make the state a hub of pharmaceutical business. For this, the government has decided to bring a new Pharmaceutical Policy by amending the existing one drafted in 2018.

With the amendments, the new policy will rule out several reliefs to companies manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) as raw materials. Due to this, big pharmaceutical majors from India and abroad engaged in manufacturing will be interested in investing in UP.

It is worth noting that every year, more than Rs 40,000 crores of medicines and medical equipment are used in Uttar Pradesh but the state and its consumers are dependent on other states for medicines. In view of this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had rolled out a Pharmaceutical Policy in 2018 which aimed at providing necessary to big pharmaceutical companies for manufacturing medicines in the state.

Along with this, it was decided to set up a Medical Device Park and a Bulk Drug Park across the state.

After the introduction of the said policy and backed by government efforts, approval for setting up of Medical Device Park in Noida was received from the Central government last month. Now, North India’s largest Medical Device Park will be built on 350 acres of land in Sector 28 of Yamuna Expressway Development Authority (YEIDA). An Investment of Rs 5,250 crore is expected to be made through the MDP and more than 20,000 people are expected to get EMPLOYMENT.

Uttar Pradesh: Drones to keep vigil on Ganga pollution, containment zones

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched four drones in Varanasi morning for curbing pollution in Ganga, keeping a vigil in containment zones and delivering medicines and other essential articles to the needy.

The Videos and photographs captured by the drones will enable the officials to keep vigil and will help in judicious deployment of personnel and Resources and make further strategies.

In case of emergencies, these drones will also deliver medicines and other essentials in containment zones.

The drones are equipped with public address system and can be used to relay administrative orders and spreading awareness in containment zones, besides surveillance in containment zones.

GIS: Govt increases investment target

The Uttar Pradesh government, enthused by the response to the recent roadshows in foreign shores, has increased the target for its Global Investors Summit (GIS) by 70 per cent to Rs 17 lakh crore.

Earlier, the Yogi Adityanath-led government had targeted a net private investment of Rs 10 lakh crore at the GIS to be held from February 10 to 12 in Lucknow this year. The string of roadshows in December across 16 countries fetched the state investment proposals of over Rs 7 lakh crore.

The departments of Information Technology (IT) and Electronics, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME), Energy, Housing, and the Greater Noida Authority have been assigned investment targets of Rs 1 lakh crore each. The other departments whose investment targets have been upgraded include Textile, Civil Aviation, Public Works (PWD) and Urban Development, etc.

The UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has also been mandated to attract investment of Rs 1 lakh crore from entrepreneurs looking to set up industrial units in the state. The UPSIDA has already netted investment proposals worth Rs 80,000 crore in the run-up to the big-ticket event, which is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The GIS is billed to play a vital role in propelling UP as a trillion-dollar economy in the next five years, as envisaged by the Yogi government. The State Government is making all efforts to achieve the target, said UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer Mayur Maheshwari, adding that investors had shown interest in the sectors of Food Processing, textile, automobile, private industrial park, Warehousing, paper Industry, medical, biofuel, toys, data centre, IT, electronics etc.

Meanwhile, the UPSIDA has prepared an inventory of about 15,000 acres of industrial land for allotment to industries. Among the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) already signed by the UPSIDA, a private industrial park will come up in Ghaziabad at an investment of Rs 10,000 crore and it would provide jobs to 10,000 people.

Similarly, 1,000 people will get EMPLOYMENT in a Logistics and warehouse park in Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) to be developed by the Mobility Infrastructure Group with an investment of Rs 8,000 crore. The Mega Leather Cluster Development in Kanpur will provide employment to 2,00,000 people with an investment of Rs 6,000 crore.

CM: Ayodhya to soon be connected with waterways

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after the proposed world class airport, Ayodhya town would soon be connected with waterways.

After laying the foundation stone of the Government Ayurvedic College, 500 Health wellness centres and 50-bed AYUSH hospitals in six districts at a function in Ayodhya on Friday, Yogi declared, “No efforts will be spared to present Ayodhya as a world class destination with modern amenities and global connectivity. New Ayodhya will have the best roads, air, rail and waterways connectivity soon and efforts will be made to connect the historic town with waterways leading to other river side cities. This project will be implemented through the Central government. Also, work is underway to connect all Ayurvedic colleges of the state with Ayurvedic University in Gorakhpur.”

In a scathing attack on the previous Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, the chief minister in obvious reference to firing on the karsevaks in 1990, said, There was a pressing need of the government of Ram bhakts to bring ‘Ram Rajya’ in the true sense. People do not want a government that fires bullets at Ram bhakts.”

Backward areas to be focused in upcoming budget

Government of Jharkhand has started preparing the budget estimate for the next financial year 2023-24. Along with this, the revised estimate for 2022-23 is also being prepared. Finance Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh has also written a letter to the departments in this regard and asked them to prepare budget estimates.

Referring to the economic survey of the financial year 2021-22 published by the Planning cum Finance Department Singh said that there is a need to identify such areas by the departments which are still backward in terms of development. He said that while preparing the budget, the departments are expected to prepare relevant plans for the development of such backward areas and prepare a proper budget for those plans. The budget estimate will be on the basis of sanctioned post and working force.

Singh has clarified that in the last financial years, the fiscal space of the state has been consolidated due to the circumstances caused by COVID-19. The State is now recovering from the effects of the pandemic, but Resources are still limited. In such a situation keeping in view the limited resources, the budget for the financial year 2023-24 should be prepared, he added.

From the financial year 2017-18, the budget in Jharkhand is being prepared by dividing it into four categories which is establishment receipts, establishment expenditure. In the scheme under Central assistance, the schemes running in the current financial year under the Central Sector Scheme, Centrally Sponsored Scheme and State Scheme and the new scheme will focus on income-expenditure in revenue receipt. Transport, land revenue, excise tax etc. Royalty, dividends earned from public undertakings, interest on government borrowings and income of departments from other sources will be included.

UP implementing AMRUT projects on a war footing

The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme, which was launched to provide and facilities in cities and towns, is being implemented on a war footing in Uttar Pradesh as out of 279 projects sanctioned for the state, 211 have been completed at a cost of Rs 5,288.29 crore.

Under the water supply scheme, 8.40 lakh domestic connections have been given while the work on 2.04 lakh connections is still pending. At the same time, a target of 8.38 lakh connections has been set for sewer connections, out of which 5.73 lakh domestic connections have been given and 2.65 lakh connections are in progress.

Honouring peoples demand, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Thursday, declared the holy Soron Sukar area in Kasganj district as a place of pilgrimage.

The Chief Minister’s Office gave this information by tweeting about the fulfillment of this decade-old demand of Sanatan dharma followers. With the protection of this ancient and holy shrine as a pilgrimage, it will be easier to renovate many small temples coming under it, the tweet said.

A top government official said that along with this, Chakratirtha, Yogatirtha, Suryatirtha, Somtirtha and Sakotkatirtha would also be benefited. Besides development, new sources of EMPLOYMENT will also be available to the locals by their being declared a pilgrimage site of Soron Sukar area.

Soron Sukar area is located in Braj Kshetra in Kasganj and the importance of the area has been mentioned in various . It is believed that in the Soron Sukar region, Shri Barah is the place of Nirvana of Lord Vishnu, and the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The Kund (Haripadi Ganga) in Soron Sukar area is the same place from where Lord Shri Barah ascended to heaven and since then the ashes are immersed in this pool after death.

Soron Sukar region is also considered as a pilgrimage centre for salvation. With the efforts of the Yogi government, there has been a lot of development in the last four and a half years especially in religious tourism, spiritual and mythological activities in and around Soron.

MSME push turned UP youth from jobseekers to job providers: CM Yogi Adityanath

Aiming to create more jobs in the state, theUttar Pradeshgovernment organised a mega loan mela on Thursday in which banks have pledged to disburse loans worth Rs 2.95 lakh crore to various MSME units in the state. Speaking on the occasion, chief ministerYogi Adityanathsaid that the MSME push through the ODOP scheme and other policy decisions turned youth in UP from jobseekers to job providers.

The CM said that when he took charge of the state, he got the legacy of a virtually dead MSME sector.

The combined effect of right policy and hard work put in by MSME unit owners had made UP a land of job providers rather than that of jobseekers,” the CM said. He also said that UP’s credit-debit (CD) ratio has improved from 46% in 2017 to 53% in 2022. He urged the banks to encourage the young MSMEs and start-ups so that the CD ratio touches the 60% mark at the end of 2027.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch Women Entrepreneurs Empowerment Helpline at Lok Bhawan under the ongoing Vikas Utsav programme organised by the state government on Wednesday.

Along with this, development training to 75,000 Women will also start on this occasion and free cooking gas connections will also be distributed to women under Ujjwala 2.0.

He said that the chief minister would launch Women Entrepreneur Empowerment Helpline number 1800 2012 6844 in the programme.

Women entrepreneurs will be able to get all information related to MSME and the possibilities of self-EMPLOYMENT and entrepreneurship through this helpline number.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, said the state government had taken an initiative to link education to society in real terms down to the grassroots level and this was a new beginning to strengthen the foundation of the social system of the country.

The decision to make universities adopt villages for the treatment of tuberculosis (TB) patients, both adults and children, would further create a healthy and educated India. He said the government was committed to the treatment of the weaker sections, especially those who were suffering from major diseases.

Praising Anganwadis, Yogi Adityanath said the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic was successfully controlled and the credit to this went to Anganwadis and the medical warriors of the state. He said the government had given priority to vaccination of all Health workers and this was one of the reasons that the impact of the second wave was controlled.
