Union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday informed the Rajya Sabha that the Centre is yet to enforce the gazette notification on Krishna and Godavari river management boards due to the non-cooperation from both AP andTelangana.

As per the schedule mentioned in the gazette notification, both KRMB and GRMB should have taken over all projects on Krishna and Godavari from October 14. The Centre had issued the draft notification on July 15, giving a time of 90 days to both the state governments to hand over the installations, including power stations, to the respective boards.

Recycling, electronic waste and Li-ion battery recycling company, today announced that it will invest Rs 600 crore to set up a Lithium-ion battery recycling factory inTelangana. The facility will be spread over 50 acres and will increase Atteros Li-Ion battery recycling capacity to 19,500 MT by the end of 2023 from its current capacity of 4,500 MT.

Attero has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) withTelangana Governmentto strengthen the li-ion battery recycling ecosystem in the country and establish a hub for Li-Ion battery recycling for its India operations. The new facility will provide direct EMPLOYMENT to over 400 people and over 1,100 indirectly.

The extracted materials are sold in the market at LME or Fast Market prices. Currently, Attero is the only company in the world to be approved by for safely reducing carbon emissions from recycling E-Waste and Li-Ion waste.

The global recycling Industry is projected to reach $22.8 billion by 2030, up from $4.6 billion currently, expanding at a CAGR of 19.6%. With the planned capacity expansion, Attero would be able to meet 15% of the global demand for Li-Ion, 15% of the global demand for cobalt, and 15% of the global demand for graphite and emerge as one of the most formidable players in the industry.

TheUniversity of Hyderabad(UoH) is all set to implement new initiatives under the National Education Policy (NEP) from the next academic year (2022-23) following its decision to constitute a committee to devise a roadmap.

The UoH has recently constituted a 13-member committee, headed by Prof Vinod Pavarala from the school of communications, on implementation of the NEP 2020. The committee has been given a brief to formulate a detailed roadmap for phase-wise implementation of NEP and work with all schools, departments and centres at the university to put together new programmes and corresponding structures where necessary.

Setting the target of March 15 for bringing all such new initiatives to the academic council of the university for approval, UoH vice-chancellor professor BJ Rao announced that they would be implemented in the 2022-2023 academic year.

Telanganareaped a rich haul of Awards in Swachh Survekshan Awards-2022, which were announced on Saturday. As many as 16 municipalities in the state bagged national awards, four more than last year’s 12 awards in the same categories.

The awards will be presented atSwachh Mahotsavin Delhi on October 1. The prestigious awards were announced by the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs.

The selection was taken up as part of national-level sanitation challenge and national competitions such as garbage-free city rating for the period July 2021 to January 2022, Safaimitra Suraksha challenge and solid Waste Management on overall sanitation improvement and enhanced citizen awareness and engagement towards waste management across 4,355 cities and towns in the country.

Apart from the awards, of the 142 and municipalities, 70 have been recognised as ODF+ and another 40 asODF++. Of the rest, one got water + and 31 were declared open defecation-free.

Research team was led by Dr Falguni Pati, an Associate Professor at Department of Bio-medical Engineering at IIT-H.

Hydrogel was developed from discarded corneas of human and bovine sources using novel and simple method.

The team discovered the most significant feature of this tissue-specific hydrogel in order to prevent cells from scar tissue formation.

Tissue formation is attributed to micro-Environment which cannot be offered by any synthetic or other natural material.

Hydrogel is capable of being injected because of its two phases viz., liquid and gel on the basis of incubation temperature.

CIMAP-Hyderabad scientists said they have been cultivating lemongrass as the agro-Climate in the Deccan region suits it. CIMAP-Hyderabad has been distributing lemongrass slips (Krishna variety) to the farmers of tribal hamlets like Chekuruchettu tanda in Wanaparthy district.

Currently, India imports 182 tonnes of lemongrass oil annually. Initially, the target of aroma mission was only 5,500 hectares, but now it has been increased multifold due to good response.

Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao launched the state’s first plug-and-play EV Park and Two and Three-Wheeler Electric vehicles, produced byVayu MotorsandZero 21here. EV (Electrical Vehicles) Park is the first of its kind in Telangana state. It has an incubation centre for EV startups which can leverage MG’s manufacturing capabilities and Infrastructure.

A new test rig facility based on Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) technology was established in Hyderabad.

Highlights:

It can help test the capabilities and performance of solar thermal components such as solar receiver tubes, condensers, and heat transfer fluids.
The facility was established by the Advanced Research Center for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), an autonomous institute of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Cells:SPV cells convert solar radiation (sunlight) into electricity. A solar cell is a semi-conducting device composed of silicon and/or other materials that generates electricity when exposed to sunlight.
Solar thermal:Solar thermal power systems, also known as Concentrating Solar Power systems, use concentrated solar radiation as a high-temperature energy source to generate electricity via the thermal route (water converted into steam to turn turbines).

chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said his government has been spending Rs 12,000 crore annually for providing free power to farmers in the state. Speaking at a public meeting here, the chief minister said the Food Processing Industry will be a focus area after theAssembly pollsin Telangana.

“In order to strengthen thefarming communityand make Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture a fruitful venture and see smiles on farmers’ faces, the government is spending Rs 12,000 crore annually to provide free power to you (farmers),” Rao, also known as KCR, said.

He cautioned the people not to entertain opposition parties stating that if they come to power, thenBRS’ flagship schemes like free power, ‘Rythu Bandhu’ financial aid for farmers and ‘Dalit Bandhu’ for Scheduled Caste members to start enterprises will all go away.

Kaleshwaram project has received a global recognition from the American Society of Civil Engineers. Telanganas enduring symbols of engineering excellence have earned laurels at the conference.

Earlier, the minister participated in a similar annual event in Sacramento, US six years ago. Back then, he explained the various water-related initiatives taken up by the State Government.
