First State to Cut Petrol Price – Tamil Nadu

Nadu has grown to be the first nation in India to reduce the petrol price in the fiscal year 2021-22 by means of Rs 3/litre, supplying a major relief to consumers.

The rate reduction was introduced by State Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan in the course of his budget speech on August thirteen and it came into effect on August 14.

It is expected to cause an income loss of 1,160 crores for the nation exchequer.

Diesel and petrol costs in India have hit file highs. The government CITES the price upward push in international crude oil by using extra than 50 per cent as the purpose for growing expenditures in India.

In India, the retail petrol and diesel costs are decontrolled and are linked to international crude oil prices. Thus, if crude expenditures decrease, retail expenses limit too and vice versa.

Free schemes pave way for social justice, says Tamil Nadu minister

The free schemes by theTamil Nadugovernment, which many continue to claim are regressive, are really schemes for social and Economic Development and has put the state above northern states on these two criteria, said minister for financeP T R Palanivel Thiagarajan.

Gold worth Rs 1.99 crore, weighing 4.38kg, was given to the beneficiaries. He said that the basic policy of the Dravidian movement was Equality in Education, wealth and job opportunities for Women.

The Average per capita income of a person in Tamil Nadu is Rs 2.5 lakh, whereas in states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh it does not exceed Rs 75,000, he said. This is the reason why schemes like the Thalikku Thangam are implemented in the state.

Of late, tigershave been observed outside of the protected areas of the five tiger reserves in the state. Be it Anamalai, Mudumalai, Sathyamangalam, Kalakkad Mundanthurai or the newly formed Srivilliputhur Meghamalai, at least half a dozen tigers have been sighted. Its great news, say officials, because the sighting of tigers outside the reserves/protected areas indicates the population of the big cat in the state is on the rise.

The approach adopted by the NTCA to measure tiger numbers as well as tiger spatial distribution are deeply flawed. Therefore, the results they present in all five surveys from 2006 to 2022 are unreliable.
