Gandhian Darshan to be part of school curriculum in Rajasthan

The state Education department has decided to integrateGandhian Darshan(principles) in the form of content and activities in the School Curriculum Framework (SCF).

, including Sustainable Development, self-reliance, moral values, communal harmony etc will be included in textbooks and part of activities from classe I to XII the next year. The Gandhian model is in sync with New Education Policy which envisages the holistic development of students body, mind and spirit.

Union jal shakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Union science and industry minister (independent charge) Jitendra Singh jointly inaugurated theHelibornesurvey for water management inaridareas at Jodhpur.

Both of them rolled out this unique initiative by flagging off a helicopter to undertake this survey.

Jal shakti ministryhas recently given a sanction to this survey with a view to develop high resolution aquifer map and management of water for enhancement of the groundwater Resources and resolution of water problem of water in arid areas of North Western part of thecountry inRajasthan,Gujrat,Haryanaand Panjab.

Tourism has attracted over 10K cr investment in 4 yrs

In the past four and half years, 802 tourism units have been approved in the state with an of Rs 10,463.47 crore, said director tourismRashmi Sharma.

She said these units will generate EMPLOYMENT opportunities for 40785 people in the state.Rajasthanhas become the first state in the country to give full Industry status to tourism and hospitality sector.

On the other hand, during the Rajasthan Investment Summit organized last year, 379 MoUs were signed in the tourism sector, out of which 55 MoUs have been completed and 149 are at various stages of implementation.

Through these agreements, an investment of Rs 14,679 crore will be made in the state and there are possibilities of providing employment to 60,687 people.

Under the industry status, tourism units get electricity at industrial rates which are about 30% less than the commercial rates. At the same time, UD tax on these units is also applicable at industrial rates, which is 80% less than the commercial rate.

So far, the rourism department has issued entitlement certificates to 859 units out of the 1,262 applications. Similarly, 41 applications have been received under the Rural Tourism Scheme 2022, out of which certificates have been issued to 35.

Revenues from petroleum, which was almost non existent in 2008-09 androseto nearly Rs 6,000 crore in 2013-14, has started moving up again registering 22% growth to reach Rs 4,889 crore in 2022-23.The performance of the sector dependent on international crude oil prices and volume of production. But since then, the royalty mop-up has been on the upswing, recovering to Rs 3995.40 crore in 2021-22 and Rs 4889.17 crore in 2022-23.

Worlds biggest national flag to be hoisted in Jaisalmer on January 15

The worlds biggest made ofkhadiwill be hoisted on January 15 (Army Day) on the hilltop near the Army War Museum to mark 75 years of independence.

AfterLehin Jammu and Kashmir and Mumbai, Jaisalmer will be the third place where the world’s biggest Khadi flag will be hoisted.
Earlier, the worlds largest national flag, made of Khadi cloth, was installed in Leh, Ladakh, on the occasion of the 152nd birth anniversary ofMahatma Gandhion October 2, 2021.

The flag is 225 feet long and 150 feet wide and weighs around 1,000 kg andKhadi Gramodyoghas made it.

Rajasthan govt to showcase flagship schemes during 4th anniversary

The would kick off its 4th-anniversary celebrations from December 17,which will continue till December 28. In the 12-day celebrations, various programmes highlighting the flagship schemes and achievements of the government would be organized.

The major highlights would be theChiranjeevihealth Insurance scheme,Niroji Rajasthan, English medium schools, free uniform,CM Balgopalscheme,RajasthanFood Processing policy, agri Industry and Export Promotion scheme, loan waiver scheme among others. The other highlights would be the Indira rasoi, MSME incentive scheme, Udaan etc.

Jal Jeevan Mission: Centre gives Rs 2,345 crore to Rajasthan govt

The Centre on Tuesday allocated Rs 2,345 crore to the under PM Narendra Modis flagship programmeJal Jeevan Mission(JJM).

The programme is intended to provide tap water connections in rural households in the country including 1.1 lakh households in Rajasthan. The allocation is part of the total allocation of Rs 10,180.50 crore for 2021-22. The allocation in the present financial year is almost four times more than the last financial year. This shows the commitment of the central government in providing tap water connections to all households by 2024, said Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Jal Shakti minister in a statement.

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot urges industry to adopt measures to check silicosis

The chief minister said the here should try to produce more to meet the rising demand in overseas markets. Gehlot also drew attention to the waste generated by the industry which is as high as 65%. He urged the chief secretary to hold a meeting of mines and Environment departments to find solutions to reduce the waste.

He also appealed to the industry to adopt preventive measures to curb incidences ofsilicosisdisease. The government is giving Rs 3-5 lakh but that is not saving lives and mine workers are dying. He said preventive measures are the key to saving mine workers from getting silicosis.

Cow cess, other levies not released fully for spending

CAGreport on cow surcharge not substantially being transferred to the protection fund comes at a time when lakhs of cows in the state are suffering from lumpy skin disease and many are dying.

According to the CAG report, the government is yet to transfer Rs 1,115 crore to the cow protection and promotion fund created in 2016. As per the rules, the surcharge levied and collected underRajasthanStamp Act andRajasthan Valued Added Taxis required to be transferred to the fund.

The main objective of the fund is the protection and development of cows and to create permanent for shelter and homes. Only 1% of the fund is to be incurred for administrative expenses by the Gopalan department.

During 2020-21, the government collected Rs 1079.30 crore as surcharge and transferred Rs 599.12 crore to the fund. The short transfer of Rs 480.18 crore is in violation of rules and the government deferred its liability to future years.

RIICO on Tuesday signed a MoU withIndian Institute of Technology-Jodhpur(IIT-J) andJodhpur CityKnowledge and Innovation Foundation (JCKIF) for development of amedical devices park.

The Medtech Medical Devices Park will be an exclusive zone for setting up of manufacturing units in medical devices domain. The park is under development over 223 acre land and will have 73 plots in first phase where plug & play facilities will also come up. During the signing the MoU, Parsadi Lal Meena, industries minister, also unveiled the logo of the park.
