Integrate all government services with Auto Appeal System at earliest: Khattar

Presiding over a review meeting of the Auto Appeal System, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar directed all the administrative officers that the citizen-centric Services of all the departments should immediately be integrated with the Auto Appeal System (AAS).

This work should be done expeditiously as ensuring timely delivery of citizen-centric services is the utmost priority of both the Government and Administrative wing, said Khattar. The AAS proved a boon for the common man. People are benefiting from this system on a large scale. The had started this system so that not only the grievances of every Antyodaya is heard but the timely benefit of government facilities should also be ensured, added the Chief Minister.

58% children in Punjab have antibodies, finds sero survey

In Punjab, around 58 per cent of children aged between six and 17 years have developed antibodies against Covid-19, as per the initial data of the paediatric sero survey conducted by the state Health Department last week.

The results of the survey is a positive sign as the third wave is said to be potentially detrimental to children.

The data revealed 897 of 1,577 children had developed antibodies. Around 92 blood samples were collected from each district. Of these, 46 samples were collected from rural areas. However, a couple of districts in the state have not completed the process and will test the samples in a day or two.

SGPC announces launch of its YouTube channel to air Gurbani from Golden Temple

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has announced the launch of its YouTube channel to broadcast live ‘Gurbani’ from the Golden Temple. Meanwhile, modalities about telecastingGurbanithrough a satellite channel are also being worked out by the Sikh body.

Christened as Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Amritsar, this YouTube channel with SGPCs prominently displayed logo in bold letters in Punjabi, will be on air from July 24, a day after the lapse of 11-year-old contract with a private channel that had mired into controversy for being linked to the Badal family and allegedly having exclusive rights for telecast of hymns.

The SGPC president emphasised that all rights of telecast and distribution of Gurbani content and copyright would be reserved with the SGPC. No other channel, web telecast firm on Social Media or any platform would be legally barred from restreaming, downloading and uploading.

Power curbs on industries lifted in Punjab: Chief minister Amarinder Singh

Punjabchief minister Amarinder Singh on Monday evening ordered immediate withdrawal of all power regulatory restrictions that were imposed on industries across the state to meet the power crisis.

An official said the crisis was triggered by a delayed monsoon and an unprecedented surge in demand from both agricultural and domestic sectors.

Reviewing the power situation in the state after the resumption of generation at one of the three non-functional units at Talwandi Sabo Thermal plant, the chief minister directed the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (Pspcl) to ease off all power regulatory restrictions on industrial consumers across the state with immediate effect. The chief minister was informed that the plant at Talwandi Sabo had resumed 660 MW production, improving the power situation in the state. Two other units of 660MW each at the plant are yet to be made operational.

Punjab has 99,834 small power industrial consumers besides 30,176 medium power consumers upon whom no usage restriction has been levied at all despite rising demand for power across the domestic sector.

Punjab CM directs finance dept to release Rs 60 crore for construction and enhance budget allocation for sports varsity

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh directed the finance department to immediately release the sanctioned amount of Rs 60 crore for the first phase construction of the Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University (MBSPSU), Patiala campus.

He also asked the finance department to enhance the allocation for the premier institution in this years budget, saying that the Rs 15 crore allotted for the university was too less.

To ensure world-class curriculum for the university, the chief minister approved a draft MoU to be signed with UK-based Loughborough University to institutionalise the collaboration between the two.

Govt agrees to provide Rs 30 crore monthly grant to Punjabi University, Patiala

The will provide Punjabi University Rs 30 crore per month (Rs 360 crore annually) as grant. The university said the decision was conveyed during Vice Chancellor Prof Arvinds meeting with Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Principal Secretary (Finance) and Principal Secretary (Higher Education).
