The Arunachal Pradesh Government is to establish Arunachal Pradesh Infrastructure Financing Authority. The decision was taken by the cabinet during the golden Jubilee celebrations.

The state of Arunachal Pradesh was created in 1972. And in 2022, it has been 50 years. Thus, the state is celebrating its 50thanniversary. On the first day of the month long celebrations, the cabinet made several decisions.

Cabinet decisions

To confer Arunachal Ratna award to Late K A A Raja. The award is one of the highest state Awards of Arunachal Pradesh. He was a former governor.

Financial assistance to 500 . They are to be provided with one lakh rupees each.

Three hundred primary level federations will receive two lakh rupees each

Selecting fifty schools to develop as the Golden Jubilee Model Schools. Rs 12 crores of financial assistance per school has been estimated for this project. In all the model school project will receive 500 crores of rupees.

365 Infrastructure projects are to be inaugurated and completed between 2022 and 2023.

Golden Jubilee Merit Award for students competing in class 12 and entering premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, Aiims, etc.

Additional 5000 rupees over the existing 20,000 rupees for the Dulhari Kanya Scheme.

China in mind, Centre ramps up Arunachal border road infra

The 1800-km Frontier Highway, Indias first highway proposed by the MHA at Chinas doorsteps along theMcMahon Line in Arunachal Pradesh, got a major push after the road transport and highways ministry approved six corridors connecting this highway with two other parallel highways in the state Trans-Arunachal Highwayand theArunachal East-West Corridor.

The MORTH stated that the Frontier Highway has been proposed by the ministry of Home affairs along the international border of India/China in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

The length of this highway is about 1,859 km at present. DPR of this highway is being prepared by the ministry.

MORTH stated that presently there are two arterial routes NH-15 which runs longitudinally along the foothills bordering Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and NH-13/NH-215 known as the Trans Arunachal Highways which runs through Arunachal Pradesh from east to west.

North eastern states falling behind in vaccinating 18-plus group

The northeastern states are lagging behind in the 18-44 age group vaccination, which crossed the one crore-mark in India under Phase-3 of the drive.

Even as Assam administered over four lakh doses in the category, none of the other six NE states could cross even the one lakh figure since May 1.

Among the NE states, the highest 4,33,615 doses for 18+ beneficiaries have been administered in Assam. The numbers however, may depict a wrong picture, as there is an estimated Population of 1.8 crore in the state between 18-44 years.

Except for Tripura, which managed to cross the 50,000 mark (53,957 doses), the rest of the states are far behind in inoculating the young people. Arunachal Pradesh has vaccinated the 18-44 population with 17,777 doses. While Manipur could administer only 9,110 doses for the 18-44 group, Meghalaya is marginally ahead with 23,142 inoculations. The corresponding figures for Mizoram and Nagaland are 10,676 and 7,376 respectively.

Manipur CM launches dedicated ILP portal

Chief ministerN BirenSingh launched a dedicated Inner Line Permit (ILP) portal at his office complex.

Following a prolonged mass campaign to safeguard the indigenous Population of the state and Biren Singhs pressure, the Centre had extended the ILP system in the state in December 2019. It came into effect from January 1, 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, Biren said ILPs were earlier issued manually at Maogatebordering Myanmar, the Imphal airport and Jiribam bordering Assam. With the launch of a dedicated portal, ILPs can now be issued online by DCs and labour commissioners, he added.

ICMR drone services for vax delivery in Nagaland

The Indian Council of Medical Research (Icmr) has launched drone Services to deliver Covid-19 vaccine in Mokokchung district.

During the formal launch of i-drone delivery system, Vaccines were aerially transported from Mokokchung chief medical officer’s office to the primary Health centre (PHC) in Longsa village in presence of Mokokchung deputy commissioner Limawapang Jamir, superintendent of Police Aotula Imchen and deputy chief medical officer Dr Kibangkumba.

Two districts, Mokokchung and Tuensang, were chosen for studying the feasibility of drone technology in delivery of medical supplies in Nagaland.

Tripura CM opens states 1st English-medium govt college

Tripurachief ministerManik Sahaalong with Education ministerRatan Lal Nathon Tuesday inaugurated the first English medium general degree college of the state in the city with 100 intake capacity.

The five basic subjects of the arts stream, including compulsory Bengali and English, are being taught this academic session that began last month. Renovating an old Teachers Training College, the Tripura government has built the general degree college at the cost of over Rs 1 crore as committed in the budget this year.

In the first step, the exact syllabus of CBSE has been introduced, followed by recruiting a large number of trained teachers and training up to over 40,000 existing teachers of government schools and also improving the student-teacher ratio going by the national Average.

Aerial link for three NE cities

A link aircraft is set to connect three cities in the region giving passengers for onward connectivity with the rest of the country.

Expanding aerial connectivity between Kolkata Guwahati, Guwahati Aizawl, Aizawl Shillong, Shillong Aizawl, Aizawl Guwahati and Guwahati Kolkata routes. The service will be available every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The frontier state of Mizoram bordering Myanmar, a gateway to the northeast, has been the focus. Scindia said the city has an immense importance in the tourism and economic sector.

Under the UDAN scheme, the Centre has connected cities that had no mention on the aviation map. We have already started 60 Airports and 387 routes, out of which 100 routes are awarded in the northeast alone, and 50 are already operational. In 2014, only six airports were operational in northeast, now we have grown to 15 airports in seven years, Scindia noted. In addition to this, he added that under the KRISHI UDAN Yojna, the Centre has identified 16 airports to enhance the export opportunities of the region.

Naga peace talks commence in Kohima after over a year

After over a year, crucial meetings between the Government of India envoy and Naga insurgent outfits began here on Monday to settle the long-pending Naga political issue involving various bodies, including the NSCN (IM). Officials in Kohima said that former special director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Central government representative A.K. Mishra and the NSCN (IM) Leadership led by Thuingaleng Muivah held a meeting at the Police complex in Chumoukedima.

NSCN-IM leader Rh Raising told the media after the meeting that everything should be initiated on the basis of the Framework agreement signed with the government in 2015.

The Arunachal Pradesh government has signed an MoU with IIM Shillong recognising the premier institute as its official think tank and knowledge partner.

The MoU was signed on Friday between state chief secretary Naresh Kumar and Prof D.P. Goyal, director IIM Shillong, in presence of chief minister Pema Khandu in Shillong.

This is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the institute and any in the Northeast, a move many feel could see more and more states tap into expert advice/Services offered by institutes such as the IIM for holistic development.

According to the MoU, the government of Arunachal Pradesh will recognise Dr APJ Centre of IIM Shillong as an official think tank and knowledge partner of the government in the frontier state which suffers from connectivity issues and mainly dependent on Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture.

This centre will help impart training to youths for Entrepreneurship development and promoting start-up ecosystem, amongst others.

Bamboo culture will be improved in Tripura

The Tripura government has started construction of its second bamboodepotat Chakmaghat at Khowai in West Tripura to promote cultivation and popularize the use of bamboo.
The first depot is located at Kumarghat in Unokoti, North Tripura.

Tripura has 21 varieties ofbamboobecause of texture and Climate. Despite growing demand for bamboo for household items, handicraft and Infrastructure development work, production and Marketing of bamboo has not been adequate over the past decade.
