The Maharatta Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Commerce (MCCIA) cooperated with the National Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (NABARD) to establish India’s first agricultural export facilitation center in Pune, India.Highlights:

The new convenience center will serve as a one-stop center for exporters in the agricultural sector and promote agricultural exports in the region in accordance with global standards.

The center will use its experts to guide prospective exporters in all aspects of the agricultural product export chain of “agricultural products from farm to table”. It will organize publicity programs, training programs and workshops for related parties, organize visits to export companies for practical guidance, and organize buyer and seller meetings.

:The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) is operational and is committed to the 3rd Joint Logistics Node (JLN) in Mumbai. Highlights:

The third batch of JLN has been put into operation as part of measures to promote the integration of the three Services and resource optimization.

JLN will enhance joint interoperability between services and will greatly help in improving the processes of the armed forces.

According to the statement of the Ministry of National Defense, these JLNs will provide comprehensive logistics support for the armed forces small arms ammunition, rations, fuel, grocery stores, civil transportation, aviation clothing, spare parts and engineering support, so that they can synergize their operational efforts.

Maharashtra assembly speaker asks state govt to ensure online services in remote areas

Maharashtraassemblyspeaker Rahul Narvekaron Thursday directed the to ensure that online Services reach the remote areas of backward districts so that the tribal people can avail of various government schemes.
He said help could be sought from either the Department of Information technology (DIT) or the State IT Department in this regard.

PM Modi unveils Shivaji Maharaj statue, launches Metro rail project in Pune

Development plan to help 10 lakh from particularly vulnerable tribal groups in Maharashtra

An estimated 10 lakh tribal community members spread across all 35 districts ofMaharashtrastand to benefit from thePradhan Mantriparticularly vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs) Development Mission that was announced by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Budget.

The minister announced the launch of the Rs 15,000 crore time-bound programme for the development of specific tribal communities to ensure better Education, Health and livelihood opportunities.

According to the data with the tribal development commisisonerate, Nashik, there are about 10 lakh people belonging to Gond, Kolam and Katkari tribal groups.

The PVTG scheme was formed in 2015. There are several tribal communities with a very low Population, which is declining further. The levels of Literacy and economic progress are also low. Moreover, these communities use very traditional forms of agricultural practices and have very low health indices.

Central Mumbai flat sales rose 93% last year over 2019: Study

Central Mumbailed the revival in property sales in 2021, Thane had the highest stamp duty collection in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) , while the western suburbs brought in the highest sales value of Rs 49,000 crore, found an study released.

Flat registrations in central Mumbai (Parel, Dadar, Prabhadevi, Wadala,Matunga) jumped 93% from 2019 and 71% from 2020. Thane (Kalwa, Majiwada, Wagle Estate, Kolshet, Kasarvadavli) accounted for the highest number of registrations with a 42% share in MMR, and the highest stamp duty collection. There were 1,02,054 property registrations at an average price of Rs 10,300 a sq ft. The clear preference here was for flats priced below Rs 1 crore, said the report.

The western suburbs (Andheri, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivli, Borivli, Dahisar) recorded 37,985 property registrations at Rs 21,300 a sq ft. The sales value of about Rs 49,000 crore accounted for one-fourth of the total sales revenue in MMR.

Maharashtra 2nd state to knock on Centre’s doors over Chhattisgarh coal mine delay

Maharashtra has sought the coal ministrys intervention in getting forest clearance from the Chhattisgarh government coal block allotted to its power stations in the Vidarbha region, becoming the second state to knock on the Centres doors over mining hurdles in a state that has the countrys third-largest coal deposits.

MAHAGENCO (Maharashtra State Power Generation Company) MD Sanjay Khandare last week wrote to coal secretaryAnil Jain, saying the utility had fulfilled the conditions for forest diversion for the Gare Palma-II coal block in October 2021 but the was yet to send its recommendation for Stage-I forest clearance to the Centre.

Khandare requested the ministry to intervene in the matter as an early clearance was important to start production from the block, located in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh, by October 2023 deadline.

New Species Of Eel Found In Mumbai

A New Species of blind freshwater eel was discovered by scientists from ZSI, Mumbai.

Highlights:

The Freshwater Blind Eel species was discovered in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
This is the primary such discovered species from Maharashtra and Northern western Ghats.
The species was found by four scientists namely, Anil Mohapatra, Tejas Thackeray, Praveenraj Jayasimhan, and Annam Pavan Kumar.
Scientists had collected the hypogean species a couple of years ago. They continued performing on it till now.

The Blind Eel

Species are named Rakthamichtys mumba to pay tribute to the town it had been found in.
Newly discovered freshwater bright-pink-colored species is totally blind and subterranean seafood.
The blind eel has a genetic distance of 21.6 22.8% to other known species of Rakthamicthys genus.
This is the 5th species from Rakthamicthys genus to be found in India.
This discovery is that the most remarkable one so far. Scientists had collected the hypogean species a couple of years ago. They continued working on the discovery, in the ongoing covid-19 pandemic situation.

It is a genus of swamp eels and is endemic to India. Three species are known from the Western Ghats while one is understood from Northeast India. These species live underground.

Maharashtra plans to increase Covid testing to 1 lakh a day: Official

:Maharashtrahealth officials on Wednesday directed all districts and local authorities to step up testing following the emergence of the new Omicron variant of Covid with the setting a target of 1 lakh tests a day henceforth.

Covid testing had gone down in some parts of the state in the past two weeks. Last week, the Union Health ministry directed nine districts in the state to scale up the daily Average testing, which had fallen below the World Health Organisation (WHO) norms of 140 tests per day per million Population for the week ending on November 22.
Akola, Amravati, Buldhana, Dhule, Gondia, Hingoli, Nandurbar, Washim and Yavatmal were then listed as the districts conducting average tests per million below the WHO norms. These districts, however, registered an improved collection of samples this week.

The Centre has also cited the onset of winter, increased pollution in some states, prevalence of influenza like illness/Severe Acute Respiratory Infections and respiratory distress symptoms as reasons for close monitoring, stepped up testing and early identification of the hotspots. The state has also issued guidelines on these to all districts.

Maharashtra: Flat owners to get vertical property cards soon

The state governments approval to the draft for issuingvertical property cardsto flat owners of MahaRERA-registered projects is expected soon.

The move would ensure supplementaryverticalproperty cards for flats with details of ownership, carpet area, bank loan information and other details. The aim of issuing it is to map the vertical Growth in cities and rural areas. It would also help maintain an independent record of rights and register for individual apartments in projects.

The draft to issue vertical property cards drew lot of suggestions and objections. The committee constituted for vertical property cards submitted them to the state before the draft was framed.

The state issues property cards for land in urban areas and 7/11 extracts in rural areas.
