Madhya Pradesh: Hallmarking of gold jewellery comes into effect in 8 districts

Mandatoryhallmarkingof gold jewellery and artefacts has come into force in eight districts ofMadhya Pradeshin the first phase implementation. Though just around 20% jewellers in these districts have taken the hallmarking certificates, prompting theassociation of jewellersto demand better and hallmarking centres in every districts.

Gold hallmarking, a certification of purity of the yellow Metal, has come into force from June 16 inIndore, Bhopal, Dewas,Jabalpur, Rewa, Satna,GwaliorandRatlam, in the first phase.

According to the association, the eight districts where hallmarking is implemented has around 7,000 jewellers. Jewellers with an annual turnover of upto Rs40 lakh will be exempted from mandatory hall marking.

Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that special attention should be paid to the efforts to prevent pollution. Neglecting the Environment for economic interests should not be tolerated. Patel said that for environmental consciousness in the Society, emphasis is must on coordinated efforts for public awareness, encouragement and control regarding energy, saving water, reducing garbage, E-Waste, stopping single use plastic, adopting sustainable food systems and healthy lifestyle. With the participation of children in schools, plantation and environmental protection work will have to be done.

Governor Patel said that targets should be fixed for environmental protection activities. Create a project to achieve goals. Efforts should be made by preparing an annual action plan for the goals of the project. By working in the same way, 100 percent plantation can be done in all universities, colleges and schools.

Madhya Pradesh cabinet approves subsidy in power tariff for farmers

State cabinet headed by chief ministerShivraj Singh Chouhan approved subsidy in tariff fixed by theMadhya PradeshElectricity Regulatory Commission forfarmersand 98 lakh domestic consumers. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also asked theMSMEdepartment to frame a policy to encourage rice mills and ethanol production in the state.

The Home minister said that subsidy for farmers with 10 h p pumps is close to Rs One lakh per year which is paid by the state while the farmer needs to pay a very nominal sum. Added to this there are 98 lakh domestic consumers who get electricity at Rs 100 per month. The power subsidy burden on the state treasury is Rs 21,000 crores.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan virtually inaugurated 156 micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during the program held at Impact Industry Sejwani Pithampur industrial area. 36 MSMEs have started functioning where as other 120 industries are in different stages of construction and start functioning very soon.

An of total Rs 13800 crore has been done in the establishment of 156 MSMEs which includes automobile, food, pharma, packaging, rubber and various other sectors of industries and around 20000 people will get job in these industries including the Women employees. The GM of MSME Pithampur zone Sunil Tripathi told The Pioneer that around 940 MSMEs are presently functional in all the 6 sectors of Pithampur industrial area and now this 156 MSMEs will also join the elite club of 940 MSMEs already functional.

No gifts, only Rs 50,000 cash in Kanya Vivah Yojana, says MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Chief ministerShivraj SinghChouhan said that the girls getting married under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Evam Nikah Yojana would now be given Rs 50,000 cash instead of gifts items.

Chouhan, who on Friday addressed two public meetings in Khargone and Burhanpur districts, said that the had implemented the Vivah Evam Nikah Yojana to enable marriages of eligible girls by giving them gift items including furniture and silver ornaments (worth Rs 38,000).

Speaking about newly-launched Ladli Behna Yojana, the CM said that Women applying for this scheme will not need income and domicile certificates. Women with family income up to Rs 2.5 lakh/year can apply under the scheme to get Rs 1,000/month financial assistance, he said.

MP to waive off power bills of Rs 6,400 cr of 88 lakh consumers

In a major relief to people amid the downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday said his government would waive off electricity bills to the tune of Rs 6,400 crore of 88 lakh domestic consumers.

The electricity bills of 88 lakh domestic consumers amounting to Rs 6,400 crore will be waived off. The interest of farmers who became defaulters because of flaws in the loan waiver scheme of the previous regime will be paid by the , he said. Chouhan said his government had constructed 23 lakh homes for the poor, with the target being 30 lakh by the end of this year.

The remaining premium of Rs 2200 crore of crop Insurance scheme not paid by the previous regime has now been paid. A provision of Rs 8,000 crore has been made for the construction of roads in the current year. If national highways are included in it, then roads worth Rs 31,000 crore are being constructed in the state.

The states Growth rate at current prices is 19.7 per cent, which is the maximum in the country, while per capita income on the basis of current prices was Rs 1.24 lakh per annum, up from only Rs 15,000 under the Congress regime, which was a major achievement.

Companies should come forth to plant trees in MP: Minister

Forest Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has said that big companies of the country acquire land for construction and quarrying works, in return development of forests is necessary. Such companies should come to Madhya Pradesh and come forward in the development of forests through Forest Development Corporation. Forest Minister Dr Shah was inaugurating the Regional Office of Forest Development Corporation in Indore on Thursday.

Forest Minister Shah said that companies can get carbon credits in exchange for the development of forests. He said that discussions have been held with various coal companies and administration in this matter.

The Forest Minister said that there is a need for more forests in the Nimar-Malwa region and since Indore is the main centre of the corporate, work will be done by creating more coordination between the Forest Department and various private companies. Regional office has been started with this intention.

Madhya Pradesh: 8 lakh hectares of farm hit by floods

About 8 lakh hectares of rabi crop sowing area would be affected acrossMadhya Pradeshif Dams and canal systems are not repaired by October 15. A sum of Rs300 crore would be required for their repair.

The recentfloodhas severely affected around 660 minor Irrigation schemes, dams and canal systems of 38 medium and major projects in Sheopur,Shivpuri,Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Ashoknagar,Gunaand Datia districts in the Gwalior-Chambal region.

An estimate of Rs 816 crore has been made for the repair and restoration of dams, canals and other water structures on a preliminary survey.
