Radio programme for women safety

One-hour radio programme for awareness of Women safety would be organised by joint efforts of State Police and public relations department on Friday.

Under the Women’s Awareness Campaign ‘Samman’, a joint innovative effort of Madhya Pradesh Police and Public Relations Department is organising awareness programs for citizens of Bhopal on Radio Mirchi every Friday from 11 am to 12 noon.

The programme, organised on this Friday, April 23 from 11 to 12 noon, would focus on the harassment and molestation of women in public places.

In this programme, the experiences of the girls, stories of real heros, opinions of experts as well as the views of citizens would be discussed and shared.

Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that hybrid Education has immense potential for individual and sectoral, quality education and its expansion. He has said that it is necessary to consider better use of online digital platforms and new dimensions of hybrid education as an integrated form of education in the institution.

The Governor said that during the last two years, Corona has changed our lifestyles. From education to work and the means of entertainment, everything has changed. Hybrid education is an opportunity emerging from disaster. He said that solutions to the challenges of providing quality education to the disadvantaged sections of rural under-privileged areas should be found in hybrid education.

It is important for students to develop an understanding of the macroeconomic contexts of the country and the global economy. Social behavior and Leadership skills should also be made a part of education in the curriculum. Such training programmes and content should be included in the curriculum which gives the students a holistic view of seeing the unity in diversity of our glorious culture.

Remarkable work done by SHGs in MP to make women self-reliant: Murmu

President Draupadi Murmu has said that remarkable work has been done in Madhya Pradesh to make Women self-dependent through self-help groups. Here about 42 lakh women have been empowered economically and socially by joining SHGs.

These women have been provided bank loans worth Rs 4,157 crore for agricultural and non-agricultural works through the government. Their products have been taken to big markets through ‘one district-one product’ scheme in the state. Products worth more than Rs 535 crore have been sold through the Aajeevika Mart portal.

About 17,000 women have become panchayat representatives in the state. Here are some inspiring success stories of women. Self-help groups have taken the form of a mass movement in Madhya Pradesh.

This has been possible with the efforts of all women and the cooperation of the government. For this, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh Government and women all deserve congratulations.

Murmu said that maximum participation of women power is necessary in making a self-reliant and developed India. We have to create such an Environment, so that girls of all classes feel fearless and independent and can make full use of their talents. Wherever work is done under the Leadership of women, sensitivity is also seen along with success. Women must inspire each other. All women must unite and move forward on the path of development.

Bhopal among top 10 most livable state capitals

The City of Lakes ranks seventh among the most liveable state capitals in CSEs latest report, State of Indias Environment 2021. The fingings are not too far off from last years Union governments ease of living ranking.

The CSE survey reiterates two main things citizen perception of the city is very high, but economic ability or availability is a downer.

In the Union Government 2020 ranking, Bhopal was placed 19th, with an overall ease of living score of 56.26. The aggregate score in latest report for Bhopal is the same. Both calculated the score on five benchmarks: ease of living, Quality Of Life, economic availability, sustainability and citizen perception survey.

Economic availability for both surveys have a near identical score of 14 for theMadhya Pradeshcapital. Bengaluru and Delhi are way ahead on the benchmark with 78 and 50 (out of 100). Bengaluru was also the most livable city in Union government findings.

Nearly 53% women in Madhya Pradesh anaemic but 40% central funds unused

Every second woman of reproductive age inMadhya Pradeshis anaemic, but the has failed to utilise over 40% of the funds allotted to it under the ‘Anaemia Mukt Bharat’ scheme in the last three fiscals.

This shocking data comes from a reply of the Health ministry in Rajya Sabha in the Budget session.

Minister of state (MoS) for health and family welfare, Dr Bharti Pawar, informed the House that 52.9% of pregnant Women aged (15-49) were anaemic in MP. So are over 58% adolescent girls, aged 15-19, according to National Family Health Survey-5 (NFHS) figures, said the MoS.

Anaemia has risen by 5% among adolescent girls in the state, shows a comparison of NFHS-4 and -5 data. “This is a pan-India feature. It is more because of dietary habits, where more carbohydrate-rich foods are consumed along with unhealthy foods.

NFHS-5 figures show only 31% of pregnant women have taken their full course of iron pills.

The government is going to launch a drive to provide iron tablets to non-pregnant women of reproductive age, to be taken once a week, for a year, to curb anaemia.

Rs 121 crore approved for Sanjeevani clinics

Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has informed that with the aim of providing treatment facilities to citizens near their homes, Mukhya Mantri Sanjeevani Clinics are being constructed. He informed that 783 Mukhya Mantri Sanjeevani clinics have been approved in various urban bodies.

Out of this, Rs. 121 crore 25 lakh has been allocated under the 15th for new construction and upgradation of 770 Sanjeevani clinics and upgradation of already operated Sanjeevani clinics and civil dispensaries. Of these, 611 are new and 172 are already-operating Sanjeevani clinics.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the welfare of tribals is the top priority of the State Government. Many tribal welfare works have been started in Tribal Pride Week. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated the celebration of the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as Tribal Pride Day in Bhopal on November 15.

The works for the welfare of tribals have been given impetus all over the country. The concluding conference of Tribal Pride Week will be held in Mandla on November 22 in which several tribal welfare activities will be started.

Efforts are also being made to honour tribal heroes for their roles in the freedom movement. Bhoomi-pujan of the idols of heroes Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah which will be installed in the Rajarajeshwari fort ward of Mandla, will also be held.

Chouhan said that tribals will be given community forest rights under the Forest Rights Act. Along with this, the natural rights and habitat will also be provided in the Patta Distribution and Forest Rights Act. Chouhan has said that the is ensuring implementation of whatever it promised for the welfare and development of tribals. Speedy implementation of State Government schemes and distribution of benefits are being ensured. Tribal Pride Week has been started to create awareness among tribes aimed at changing their lives.

Madhya Pradesh to amend COTPA, make hookah bars illegal

could soon bring a stricter law to ban hookah bars inMadhya Pradesh. The state Home department has sent a draft to the law department asking for a stricter law, making provisions for punitive punishment for those running hookah bars in the state.

The proposal is to amend the existingCigarettesand Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade Act and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) COTPA Act 2003, to put a ban on hookah bars which have mushroomed across the state. Last year, the Jharkhand government amended the COTPA Act and made provisions to restrain combustible and smokeless cigarettes purchase and usage.

Power boost: Indore gets Madhya Pradeshs first hybrid switchgear module system

In a first in state, Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL) has used a hybrid switchgear module as part of expansion of its transmission system in Indore.

Officials said that the system had been developed and implemented by a team of engineers to meet requirements of the company. We have used a hybrid switchgear module system in a transformer of 50 MVA capacity at the 220kV substation of Bicholi Mardana area in Indore. It is for the first time when a hybrid switchgear module system has been used by MPPTCL in the state as part of the ongoing expansion of our transmission Network, MPPTCL managing director (engineering) Sunil Tiwari said.

He said that they had replaced conventional system with a hybrid switchgear module and underground insulated cabling setup for 33kV voltage supply to the 220kV substation for distribution. The arrangement has been put in place due to an increase in power demand. But space constraints posed a difficulty in installation of a conventional switchgear system. It prompted us to develop a hybrid switchgear module system at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore. The system uses less than 1/3rd of the area required by the conventional system, said Tiwari.

Madhya Pradesh: 39,000 register for sports departments talent hunt

Sports minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that talent search this year will help in creating a big pool of talent for the future.

This talent hunt meant for all the academies is being organised at macro level in association with the school Education department and tribal department. Sports department has already received 39,000 registrations for the talent hunt, wherein highest are for athletics academy.
