CM highlights welfare schemes of Govt on Statehood Day

In a development which can bring much embarrassment to the , Governor Ramesh Bais made a distance from Statehood function. Earlier, Bais was made Chief Guest of statehood function.

Bais is the second constitutional head who has maintained distance with the statehood programme. Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu who was scheduled to grace the programme as the chief guest, but at the office of the President made the last minute change on Monday and decided not to attend the programme. Murmu reached Ranchi in the morning and drove to Ulihatu (Khunti) the birth place of Birsa Munda participating at Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.

November 15 is celebrated as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas or Tribal Pride Day to honour tribal freedom fighter, Birsa Munda. On November 10, 2021, the Union Cabinet declared November 15 as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas marking the birth anniversary of the revered leader and saluting his contributions to Indias freedom movement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated a museum in Ranchi in memory of Birsa Munda also known as Dharti Aaba.

In a bid to increase job opportunity in Jharkhand in an effort to provide jobs to the youth of the State, the State Government of Jharkhand and GoodWorker opened its first resource and migration support centre at KantaToli in the State capital on Tuesday.

State Labour Minister, Satyanand Bhogta inaugurated the Centre and shared his vision and encouragement for improving EMPLOYMENT opportunities for the State’s youth. Bhokta on this occasion handed over offer letters to 50 candidates who will get the jobs, in presence of employers.

The Department official also said that the resource and Migration support centres are key to connect the youth to suitable jobs via face-to-face counselling and joining facilitation. GoodWorker aims to set up such centres across key states in the country and is thankful to the state of Jharkhand for being the first one to enable this.

India-ADB deal to improve urban water supply infrastructure in Jharkhand

Government of India and Asian (ADB) signed a $112 million loan in order to develop water supply Infrastructure in the state of Jharkhand.

The loan will also strengthen capacities of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in order to improve service delivery in four towns of Jharkhand.

This project is in line with the priority of Jharkhand Government to improve urban Services in state.

It will ensure continuous, treated piped water supply in Ranchi and other three towns namely Jhumri Telaiya, Hussainabad, and Medininagar. These towns are located in economically and socially backward areas.

This project will be the first urban project of ADB in Jharkhand. It will help in establishing a model for continuous water supply in combination with policy reforms for sustainable operation.

Under the project, four water treatment Plants will be established in four towns with a combined capacity of 275 million liters per day.

These plants would provide Safe drinking water of national drinking water quality standards.

It will also establish 940 kilometres of water distribution Network in order provide continuous water supply across 115,000 households, including below POVERTY-line”>Poverty Line households, Scheduled Caste & scheduled tribe members and other vulnerable groups.

In order to generate maximum employment opportunities to the farmers in the field of herbal industries to cultivate herbal plants and promote industries in the State, it is proposed to establish Herbal Park in the State in the first phase under pilot project.

The Director Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture said that the framers of the State are showing interest in fruit production. In the year 2020-21, the cultivation of fruits was done in 100.27 thousand hectares. It produced 1203.64 thousand metric tonnes of fruit. The production was 12 tonnes per hectare, while the national productivity was 14.82 metric tonnes per hectare. Vegetable cultivation was done in 295.95 thousand hectare in this period, out of which 3603.41 thousand metric tonnes of vegetable were produced. Vegetable production was 12.17 tonnes per hectare. The National productivity is 18.4 MT per hectare. Jharkhand is also leading in floriculture. In Jharkhand, farmers produced 4.64 thousand metric tonnes of flowers by cultivating flowers in 0.99 thousand hectares. Flower production was 4.68 tonnes per hectare whereas the national productivity is 6.57 MT per hectare, she added.

The scheme is proposed for setting up of processing units to the farmers of the state at a maximum grant of 55 per cent of the project cost per unit. Also, the fruits and vegetables produced by the farmers are dried and preserved in the Preservation Unit. For this, 50 per cent subsidized amounts are also given to the farmers from the Government level. Farmers take advantage of this and increase their income.

The handicrafts made by the artisans of Jharkhand have received national recognition because of such association. The products of Jharcraft have been highly appreciated for their beauty and artistry.

Through Jharcraft, the is engaged in promoting the States regional and traditional handicrafts like Lacquer products, Bamboo products, Dokra art, sohrai, kohbar, jadupatia painting, terracotta art, jute wares, leather purses, traditional instruments like Mandar, Nagada, and Dholak. Along with these, some unique things made of paper like the Chhau mask, artistic items like idols are also being promoted through Jharkraft.

Under the handicrafts ambit of Jharcraft, approximately 30,000 families are associated. Jharcraft is helping these artisans in one way or the other. Initiatives have been taken to train these artisans and connect them with the market. Jharcraft is also working on the protection and promotion of the unique handicrafts of Jharkhand.

According to the prevailing art form of the respective region, Jharcraft went to villages and provided training to the artisans. During the process, they were trained to manufacture handicraft products as per the market demand and launching of products in the market.

India and France leading the fight against climate change together since 2015: Emmanuel Lenain

Ambassador of France to India, Emmanuel Lenain paid a visit to Hazaribagh and toured important developmental landmarks of the town. MP Jayant Sinha welcomed the Ambassador and his team with a warm welcome note introducing them to the vibrant cultural and social landscape of Jharkhand and also to the development that took place in the past two decades.

The Ambassador also highlighted the robust relations of India and France in terms of trade and business with many French IT and consulting companies such as Capgemini opening up in India and providing EMPLOYMENT to a large chunk of the Population.

He recognized the need of a between the two countries which would expedite and improve the trade situation between India and France through reduction of trade barriers.

Lenain was presented with a token of appreciation consisting of Sohrai paintings and artwork done by the local artisans of Hazaribagh. MP Jayant Sinha beautifully expressed the connection between India and France in terms of art and said that local art such as Sohrai should also find its way on the global platform through collaborations with luxury and international brands of France.

Jharkhand govt waives Rs 980 crore loan of 2.46 lakh farmers

TheJharkhandgovernment said it has waived off loans worth Rs 980 crore of 2.46 lakhfarmersin the state so far and is committed to their welfare.

Chief ministerHemant Sorenon completion of one-year of his government on December 29 last year had officially announced the farmloan waiver scheme.

In the first phase, the government has decided to waive farm loans up to Rs 50,000.

“This scheme has brought happiness on the face of those farmers who were under debt,” said state agriculture minister Badal Patralekh.

Flying squads to be constituted to curb coal smuggling

The Police Headquarters has given instructions to crack down on illegal trade and smuggling of coal in Jharkhand. After which a flying squad team was formed to prevent illegal coal smuggling.

The team has been formed under the Leadership of Palamu IG, Rajkumar Lakra, Bokaro DIG, Patel Mayur Kanhaiya Lal, Hazaribagh DIG, Narendra Singh, Chaibasa DIG Ajay Linda and Dumka DIG, Sudarshan Mandal. There will be four constables each in the flying squad team in all the divisional areas to curb illegal coal smuggling completely. Along with these, one platoon of armed forces will also be deployed in each squad.

During this, instructions have been given to the IG-DIG, who controls the flying squad formed for the prevention of illegal mining. In which it has been said that the forces deputed under control should be sent to cooperate in raids with the squad formed for illegal mining. Along with this, the SPs of all the districts have been directed to cooperate during raids against illegal mining by the flying squad formed at the divisional level. Jharkhand govt starts distribution of kharif seeds after beating pandemic hurdles

The has kicked off the distribution ofseedsfor the kharif season weeks ahead of the monsoon this year.

State Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture minister Badal Patralekh said that they have managed to place order for 44,000 quintals of seeds, mainly forpaddy, in record time through the tendering process despite several challenges posed by the pandemic.

The minister added that the agriculture department was also keeping a strict vigil to curb black-Marketing of fertilisers. Three companies IIFCO, YARA and Indorama are permitted to sell Fertilizers in the state at government-approved rates.

Under the Namami Gange project, the state government, which has succeeded in reducing the pollution level of river Ganga in Sahebganj and Rajmahal of Jharkhand to the minimum level, has now started work towards making the flow of Damodar River uninterrupted and pollution free. Under the National Mission for Clean Ganga of the Government of India, the initiative has been taken to clean the Damodar River flowing in Jharkhand. For this, the water of all the drains and other water bodies of Dhanbad, Ramgarh and Phusro municipal bodies will be allowed to flow into the Damodar River only after purifying them from STPs. Plans for construction of sewerage treatment plants have been approved in all these municipal bodies, said Amit Kumar, director of the State Urban Development Agency, while speaking at a tenderers meet jointly organized by the Jharkhand Government’s Urban Development and Housing Department and the Central Government’s National Clean Ganga Mission.

He said that along with the construction of STPs in these three cities, there are many schemes for drinking water and septage in all the municipal bodies of the state, which you can join. He said that the government will not let the shortage of funds bring these schemes on the ground. We are also taking the help of the and Asian Development Bank.
