The State health department on Monday directed all private hospitals in Jharkhand to reserve at least 50 per cent of beds for Covid-19 patients amid an alarming rise in Covid cases and an acute shortage of dedicated beds in the State capital.

Last week, the Government had asked private hospitals to reserve 25 per cent of beds for Covid patients, but the crisis of beds continued to haunt patients and their family in many parts of the State. The fresh direction was given to private hospitals following a meeting of top Health officials chaired by Health Minister Banna Gupta

Ranchi alone accounted for eight Covid casualties and 787 cases of infection on the day, revealed NHM data. The active caseload in the district reached 6,981 on Monday, the highest among the 24 districts in Jharkhand.

Language row created to divert attention from government failures: Former Jharkhand CM Babulal Marandi

Former chief minister BabulalMarandi claimed that the language row has been created by the government just to hide its failures in complying with the promises it made to the people for coming to power.

Replying to a query on 1932 khatiyan (land records) based domicile policy, Marandi said that as Jharkhands first chief minister, he had enacted the domicile policy as notified by the Bihar government in 1982 and the Raghubar Das government of BJP implemented a cut-off date of 1985 to set the dispute over local residents to rest. But the JMM-led government wants to reformulate the domicile policy once again.

While theJMMlegislators are crying hoarse to implement the 1932 khatiyan-based local policy, the CM said in the House that the government is studying the matter. Actually the government itself is confused and it is yet to come out with a clear cut policy, he claimed.

Govt putting efforts for more investment in health sector: CM

Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that the government is making continuous efforts to expand and improve the Health facilities in the state. People should get good medical facilities in their own State, it is our top priority. Addressing people while inaugurating the online Cath lab at Cardiac Unit of Santevita Hospital, here on Saturday, he congratulated the hospital management for setting up a world class and state-of-the-art Cath lab.

The CM said that efforts are being made to create such a strong health in the State so that the patients here do not have to go to the big hospitals of the big cities outside the State for treatment. This will not only enable them to get better treatment in their own Home, but will also get rid of the huge expenditure involved in it. Apart from this, various problems caused by going to distant hospitals will also be relieved.

Soren said that whether it is a government hospital or a private one, state-of-the-art medical facilities are continuously increasing here. Especially in Ranchi, now better facilities are being available for proper treatment of serious and serious diseases. He said that all the steps are being taken by the government for maximum Investment in the Health sector.

PMAY (U) progress work reviewed for better implementation

In an attempt to provide benefits of various schemes to the every people of the State, under the chairmanship of Director, Directorate of Urban Administration, Urban Development and Housing, Vijaya Jadhav an online review meeting was convened on Monday with various municipal bodies, in which the work of progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), DAY-NULM and Mukhyamantri Shramik Yojana was reviewed.

Jadhav expressed displeasure over the pending houses of the fourth component of 2015-16 and 2016-17 under PMAY(U) and not being achieved as per the housing construction target under the component-3 affordable housing project. It was clearly stated by her that the beneficiaries who have received the amount of the house and they have not started the construction work of the house despite getting the installment, the notice of recovery of the loan along with their names should be immediately identified by identifying such people. She said that action should be taken to recover the amount as soon as it is pasted on the notice boards of the municipal bodies. Along with this, instructions were also given to complete the half-completed house at the earliest.

Prepare strategy document for increasing cultivated area: Secy

Secretary Agricultural, Abu baqr Siddique, on Saturday, urged Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) administration to constitute a team of best scientists for preparing a strategy document for increasing area under cultivation and crop diversification in Jharkhand.

Siddique said all the documents of the and research institutes suggest that area under cultivation has remained static during the last one decade despite all the efforts and investments by the Government and concerned agencies.

Siddique also invited suggestions for addition, deletion, modification in the ongoing projects and schemes of the Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture department and inclusion of some important projects for the region within a week so that it could be incorporated in the budget of next financial year. Tangible solutions should be suggested for different regions like Kolhan, Palamu, Chhotanagpur, Santhal, he stressed.

Food and nutrition are of utmost significance for overall physical and mental health. Ever since the pandemic wreaked havoc, immunity boosting foods to fight the infectious disease have gained prominence. Healthy foods, balanced diet and nutrition are now recognised as an important prerequisite for an active, disease-free life, growth and development.

The National Nutrition Week that concluded recently also stressed on raising public awareness about nutrition and healthy eating habits. Tata Steel Foundation took up various initiatives to spread awareness about the right nutrition across its operational locations in Jharkhand.

As a part of its initiatives to promote healthy living, Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) has been encouraging communities to adopt the practice of growing nutrition gardens in their homes.

Vegetable nutrition gardens can be established on a small piece of land including the backyards of houses. Growing vegetables in their backyards, utilizing household waste water and without the use of any chemical Fertilizers/pesticides ensures that the communities have access to a healthy diet containing adequate amounts of essential nutrients. TSF also engages in regular interaction with the community via regular Home visits to generate awareness on nutrition and providing training on crop cultivation and its care and maintenance.

A total of 6,191 households were supported in promoting nutrition gardens last year touching 30,955 lives across nine locations in our operational areas.

The much awaited demands of doctors of State will soon become reality as the State cabinet has given the nod for implementation of the Medical Protection Act in State. Doctors of State have been demanding implementation of the Medical Protection Act in the state for a long time. Their much-awaited demand has been approved by the Hemant Cabinet. Soon the Medical Protection Act will be implemented in Jharkhand.

The Cabinet nod for implementation of the Medical Protection Act has come after Jharkhand government on Saturday held a meeting with representatives of doctors’ associations for discussing issues such as the implementation of the Medical Protection Act and an amendment to the Clinical Establishment Act.

The Jharkhand cabinet approved 40 proposals. Jharkhand Property Rules 2022 amended. With this the formula of holding was changed. Now holding tax will be determined by taking the Average rate of property in all the municipal bodies in a division. The same educational institutions running without profit or loss will now have to pay only 25 per cent holding tax. Coaching institutes will not benefit. 75% holding tax will be waived.

Mission Vatsalya scheme was approved. The honorarium of healthy and elderly artistes was increased. Bhim used to get 1000 in which he will get 4000 and in the second category he will get 4000 to 8000. If they are getting Money from other governments then also they will continue to get money from this scheme.

Nations first digital portal dedicated for sports and sportspersons launched in Jharkhand

Under the direction of the Chief Minister Heman Soren, Johar Khiladi Sports Integrated Portal has been launched for the overall development of sports and sportspersons of the State. With the aim to position Jharkhand as a nursery for sports and to imbibe a sports culture in the state, this portal is one of a kind initiative across the country that shall be monumental to hone the talents of sportspersons of the state.

The portal launched by the Chief Minister is one of the first such portals to strengthen the idea of digitisation of sports. Information about players, coaches, referees, all sports academies, sports grounds, sports stadiums is available on a single portal. Information about state and district level competitions to be held in the state in future will also be made available on the portal in times to come.

In this portal, a detailed Database of each player will be created, information about their participation in various sports competitions will be maintained and will be made accessible in just one click. A total of 32 sports have been added to the portal, so that the players of all 32 sports recognized by the Indian Olympic Association can get benefits. For each sport, information about registered academies, registered players, past and upcoming competitions will be available at one place.

The sportspersons of the state can put forward any issues faced by them before the District Sports Officers as well as the Department of Sports directly through the portal. The officers will provide solutions to the problems faced by the sportspersons.

The Poto Ho Sports Scheme has been launched with the aim of promoting sports and sportspersons. Under the ambit of this scheme playgrounds are being constructed at the village level. The government is gearing up to build a Network from the Panchayat to the Capital, so that different types of sports programs are organized and players can put their talents to best use.

Govt efforts to promote sports in rural areas: Thakur

Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, inaugurated the Chief Minister’s invitational football tournament at Girls High school field Garhwa. The tournament is organized by the Department of Tourism, Art Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs for promotion of sports among the youths. Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Deputy Development Commissioner Satyendra Narayan Upadhyay and Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar Raj Maheshwaram were also present on the occasion. The tournament will continue till December 15. On the occasion, the Minister said the government is organizing the tournament to promote sports- talents and giving a better platform to the players in rural areas.

He said that Chief Minister also makes constant efforts in taking forward the game and the players. Continuous work is being done on how to take all sports including football to the highest level in Jharkhand.

Even after the formation of Jharkhand, the sports which could not be organized in this state, after Covid, the enthusiasm of the players is being increased by organizing them. He told that Chief Minister has taken many steps to encourage the players.

CM vows to empower poor, backwards and tribals

Jharkhand on Tuesday completed 22 years of its inception. On this occasion, a State-level function was held at historic Morhabadi ground in Capital, where Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched various welfare schemes along with inaugurating several new projects. The chief guest of statehood function was JMM chief and party Rajya Sabha member Shibu Soren, who played a pivotal role in creation of separate State of Jharkhand around two decades back.

Chief Minister Soren addressing the gathering said that Jharkhand creates a different identity in the entire country due to its mineral wealth, but also as land of heroes. Today, is not only the foundation day of the state; it is also the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. Our forefathers fought for their rights and fought many battles.
