The Women members of the rural Self-Help Groups (Sakhi Mandal) of theJharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society(JSLPS) are working to promote indigenous tribal jewellery under the Adiva Brand, by selling them at trade fairs and saras melas across the country.

According to JSLPS, theAdiva Brandempowers rural women and preserves the states tribal jewellery heritage by connecting the states traditional jewellers with the larger markets with a new identity. JSLPS has been promoting women by involving them in a variety of activities through capacity building and making them earn their livelihoods and it has intensified efforts to offer dedicated markets to the jewellers. Currently, 15 SHGs are associated with the Adiva Brand and over 150 women have benefited from it, the society said. Sharing their experiences, the tribal women artisans said earlier, they used to make ornamental items daily but were deprived of the right market and exposure.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the Apki Adhikar, Apke Sarkar, Apke Dwar scheme has been a success so far helping Government reach to the last mile.

Addressing a North Chotanagpur divisional level program of the outreach campaign at Hazaribagh on Saturday, Chief Minister said that so far 2 lakh 50 thousand complaints have been registered under this scheme, out of which 2 lakh 20 thousand complaints have been promptly executed.

Hemant Soren announced that for the treatment of serious diseases in the state, the government would help in the treatment of every person whose income is less than 8 lakhs.

Mining companies have been told that 75 percent of the workers, ryots and displaced people have to be kept, then only mining will be allowed. The contract up to one crore is to be made available to the displaced. The government is soon going to set up a displacement commission. The appointment rules are being finalized.

Goods and Services Taxes (GST) is on the path of becoming a good and simple tax, but faced with several complications at present, tax expert from Delhi BimalJainsaid.

The function was organised to mark the foundation day of the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP).

Jain said with 1,200 amendments having taken place in the past five years, there is an of confusion among the tax payers, tax practitioners, and the officials. It is hard for the professionals to remain updated on the latest rules.

Jain observed that prevailing complexities are leading to lapses by the tax payers. Hence, the government should have an amnesty scheme, instead of imposing late fine and penalties, for them, he added.

Jharkhands first 100 MW floating solar panel grid is awaiting clearances from theSolar Energy Corporation of India(SECI) since it received the nod from the state cabinet in April 2021.

Proposed inGetalsud Damon the outskirts of Ranchi, the project is seen as a key component in Jharkhands quest for producing approximately 4,000 MW solar electricity by 2027 as the mineral-rich state turns towards sources to Light up homes and power its business and industrial establishments in coming years.

The Rs 650-crore project will be installed by the SECI. Under the power purchase agreement which has been inked between SECI and the state-run discom,Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited(JBVNL), the power produced from the plant will be purchased by the latter and will be sold at rates which will be decided by the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC).

The Central Government has sanctioned construction of as many as 233 roads across Jharkhand worth Rs 1396 crore in order to improve connectivity in the naxal hit areas. Under the scheme a total of 1753.77 km road will be constructed other than 71 bridges. The rural development is likely to execute the plan by floating tenders. The road will be developed in the aspirational districts of Jharkhand.

The Union Ministry of Rural Development took this decision in the Light of a proposal made by the Jharkhand government. The proposal of Jharkhand was approved at a meeting of the empowered committee chaired by Union Rural Development Secretary NN Sinha in Delhi.

These roads will be constructed under the Prime Ministers Village Road Scheme. According Jharkhand rural development department 979.350 km of rural roads will be constructed under PMGCI Phase-3 which will cost Rs 630.65 crore. Similarly 774.42 km of roads will be constructed in the Naxal hit areas under the Prime Ministers Village Road Scheme to improve connectivity. The Narendra Modi government has given approval for construction of roads through RCPLWE scheme. Under this, 125 roads and 71 bridges will be constructed worth Rs 765.42 crore.

Under the scheme schools, anganwadi centers, Health centers and roads connecting to district headquarters will be constructed on the priority basis. Besides, roads will be co constructed in hard to reach areas for the development of such undeveloped areas. The project will be centrally monitored.

TheJharkhandgovernment has decided to rope in retiredbridge expertsfor supervision of the construction work of bridges in rural areas after such structures crumbled prematurely.

The move also came in the backdrop of theCAGreport for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019, which said lack of planning, monitoring and poor execution of the bridges built for rural connectivity under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY and the Mukhyamantri Gram Setu Yojana (MGSY). The report, which was tabled during the monsoon session of the assembly earlier this week, also slammed the government over wasteful expenditure in such bridge projects, causing heavy loss to the state exchequer.

The https://exam.pscnotes.com/national-human-rights-commission”>National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed Jharkhand chief secretary to submit an action taken report over allegations of failure of the State Government to pay compensation to silicosis victims, dead and alive.

The NHRC directive issued on Wednesday is based on a complaint by general secretary of a NGO Occupational Safety and Health Association of Jharkhand (OSHAJ) Samit Kumar Carr for payment of compensation as per the state governments norms to the silicosis victims.

Silicosis is an irreversible and progressive occupational respiratory disease caused by continuous or intermittent inhalation of respirable crystalline silica dust while working in silica dust exposure of different percentages of silicon dioxide as content of dust.

Incidentally, Kunti Pator, a 55-year-old woman suffering from silicosis died on Wednesday evening while her husband Sujan Pator is also suffering from silicosis.

Addressing the media persons former Birsa Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture University Dean Students Welfare, MS Yadav said that Millets is a game changer for nutritional security and climate resilience in Jharkhand which highlights the climate resilient and nutrient rich properties of indigenous and local grains and their ability to address the persistent problem of anaemia and Malnutrition among children in the State.

Culturally, millets have been a staple for Jharkhands indigenous Population, and the inclusion of millet in the Midday Meals is also expected to ensure better price realisation, Equity and Justice for vulnerable tribal farmers.

Jharkhand has been struggling with dismal rates of malnutrition and anaemia with the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5)1, as of 2019-21 revealing that 67.5 per cent of children aged between five months and five years were found to be anaemic. To tackle iron deficiency anaemia in the state, finger milletswhich are local to the state have high iron content (9.8 mg per 100 gm) 2, would help address the issue.
