Maximum number of beneficiaries should get benefits under the Sarva Jan Pension Scheme Ranchi Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kumar Sinha held a virtual meeting, in which he reviewed about connecting various qualified persons. Along with that he gave necessary guidelines.

During the meeting, the DC reviewed various pension schemes (old age, destitute and disabled pension scheme) block and zone wise. Along with this, he directed the BDO and CO to make it work in mission mode. He said that control rooms should be set up in all the blocks and more and more eligible persons should be connected with the scheme. He asked to improve the coverage Percentage in urban and rural areas in 15 days to ensure benefits to the maximum number of eligible persons. At the same time, he also directed to organize saturation camps in all panchayats.

Jharkhand has been attracting investors globally due to increasing mechanization in mining, availability of raw material and competitively priced labour cost. Even today, we are dependent on fossil fuel i.e. mining industries to meet the energy requirement in the country. Appraising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pledge at the United Nations Climate-change”>Climate Change Conference (COP26) held in Glasgow last year, he added that India would limit its carbon emissions to net zero by 2070.

Govts new proposal for sale of liquor in state draws flak

The retail liquor sellers ofJharkhandhave urged the Hemant Soren government to scrap its plan of taking over the liquor sales in the state.

The Jharkhand Khudra Sharaab Vikreta Sangh (JKSVS), the umbrella organisation of 1,400 retail liquor sellers in the state, has handed over a memorandum to chief secretarySukhdev Singh, citing that the government should learn from the bitter experiences of controlling retail sales between 2017 and 2019.

The state excise and prohibitions department roped in theChhattisgarhState Marketing Corporation Limited (CSMCL) earlier this month in a bid to boost the gross annual revenue through liquor sales. CSMCL has been tasked with preparing a roadmap for the states target of grossing Rs 2,300 crore in revenue in the upcoming financial year.

Jharkhand has grossed revenue of Rs 1,900 crore through liquor sales in the ongoing year while Kerala, with nearly the same Population as Jharkhand, has grossed nearly Rs 14,000 crore. Chhattisgarh has grossed Rs 5,000 crore in the ongoing year despite having a population of 2.5 crore, as per CSMCLs draft report.

RMCs first dedicated state-of-art vegetable market ready to open

The civic authority in Ranchi is ready with the capital’s first dedicated vegetable market where over 300 sellers, who operate out of a road opposite Raj Bhavan, will be relocated. The move will ensure smooth flow of traffic near Raj Bhavan.

The market, built by Ranchi at over 40,000 sq feet at Naga Baba Khatal at a cost of Rs 10 crore, is awaiting formal inauguration. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will inaugurate the state of art market this month. The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has started preparations for the inauguration of the market.

The foundation stone of the Naga Baba vegetable market project was laid in 2017 when the Raghubar Das-led BJP government was in power. It was meant to be ready by 2020 but the project got mired in delays due alterations in design and the pandemic.

Ranchi district has reported exactly half of the 82 Covid deaths that occurred in Jharkhand since March 10, indicating that the state capital was accounting for more casualties during the second wave of Covid-19 in comparison with East Singhbhum, which reported the highest casualties during the first wave last year.

As per figures compiled by the National Health Mission (NHM), Ranchi accounts for 41 of the 82 Covid casualties reported in the state in the past one month. On the other hand, East Singhbhum, which continues to top among Jharkhand districts in terms of Covid casualties, has reported only seven Covid fatalities since March 10, reveals NHM data.

As per NHM data, Ranchi reported 7,017 of the 14,279 fresh Covid cases in Jharkhand since March 10. In totality, the district accounts for 40,407 of the 1,34,715 cases of Covid infection reported in Jharkhand so far. The figures indicate that Ranchi has reported 49 per cent of cases in the past one month and only 29 per cent of the total cases reported in Jharkhand so far.

As per figures with the NHM, Ranchi accounts for 290 of the 1175 Covid casualties about 24 per cent in Jharkhand so far.

Will lend Rs 750 crore to JBVNL to improve power crisis: Jharkhand

The on Tuesday decided to lend Rs 750 crore to theJharkhandBijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL), state discom, for improving the erratic power situation across the state.

The decision was taken after chief minister Hemant Soren held a review meeting of the current situation of the outages following routine reports of it in the media. Soren also gave nod for Rs 200 crore to JBVNL under annual development plan scheme for Infrastructure upgrade across the district.

To help JBVNL purchase extra power from the central pool, the state government will now provide it Rs 750 crore loan from Power Finance Corporation.

CM Hemant launches SAHAY scheme to nurture rural sports

Chief Minister Hemant Soren today launched ‘SAHAY (Sports Action towards Harnessing Aspiration of Youths) from Kolhan Division to polish and nurture sports talents of rural areas of State.

Through scheme, in first phase, 72,000 youths of 14 to 19 years of Naxal-affected districts including Chaibasa, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Khunti, Gumla and Simdega will get an opportunity to show their skills in field of sports.

Talented youth in sports up to Panchayat, Ward, Block and District level will get an opportunity to show their skills in other sports including hockey, football, volleyball and athletics.

The scheme will be operated by the Sports Department. The objective of scheme is to motivate youth of Naxal affected areas towards a positive life by giving them an identity through sports. In competitions organized under scheme, winners and runners-up at district and state level will also be honored by giving incentives.

Players of Jharkhand are making a splash in field of sports. SAHAY Yojana has been started with the objective of promoting sports further. Sports will be organized at every level. I personally have an eye on the plan. Players are urged to come forward.

Jharkhand to provide coaching to poor students

The Hemant Soren government will provide fully subsidised coaching to over 35,000 school students for competitive examinations after Plus Two and for graduate and postgraduate students who are aspiring to appear in UPSC, bank, RAILWAY, state and staff selection commission examinations from next year.

The decision on the two subsidy schemes calledMukhyamantri Shiksha Protsahan Yojana(MSPY) and Eklavya Prashikshan Yojanawas taken by thecabinetin its meeting.

The MSPY aims to provide wholly-subsidised coaching to students who have passed Class 12 in premier private coaching institutes of the state for national-level entrance examinations to engineering, medical, law, fashion designing, journalism and mass Communication and hotel management courses.
Over 8,000 students, whose family incomes do not come under the Income tax brackets, will be able to opt for the scheme through a state-level entrance examination to secure seats in coaching institutes which will be empanelled by the state higher and technical Education department.

Under the Eklavya Prashikshan Yojana, over 27,000 students will be provided coaching through premier private coaching institutes for national-level job examinations such as UPSC, Jharkhand Public Service Commission,Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission,Railway Recruitment Boardand Banking.

The council of ministers also approved the Mukhyamantri Sarthi Yojana of the labour department. The scheme aims to set up-skilling centres in every block and provide job-oriented training (residential and non-residential) in trades such as carpentry, electricians, plumbing, mechanics and others.

As per IMA secretary, there are several stringent provisions as per the Act which will be a herculean task for doctors running clinics to follow. The IMA claimed that the state government is going to introduce the Clinical Establishment Act on the pressure of big corporate hospitals.

The doctors said that 23 states in Country including neighboring Bihar, West Bengal and others have introduced medical protection act and there is reason behind delaying the implementation of medical protection act.

Shehri Samrdhi Utsav to be held from Oct 22-31

In a move to produce Food Processing entrepreneur in the State, under the DAY-NULM scheme, an exhibition of products made by Women of (SHG)s and street food festival is being organized under Shehri Samridhi Utsav, 2021 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from October 22 to 31.

In this event, it is mandatory for the women of SHGs belonging to all the municipal areas of Jharkhand to take their products to this Shehri Samridhi Utsav Mela to be held in New Delhi.

It is mandatory to have at least 25-50 pieces of all the materials for sale. Goods will be selected based on the quality of the goods. In this regard, it has been directed by the Directorate of Urban Administration (DMA) that all the interested SHGs women of the urban area of the State will submit their product on October, 16 at the office of Directorate of Urban Administration (DMA) located at Dhurwa, Ranchi.

It may be mentioned here that the State Government has taken steps to brand the skills of women belonging to women SHGs of urban areas to make them self-reliant. Very soon, Gujiya and Pedukia under the brand Son Chiraya will be available in various markets of the State Capital some days earlier.
