Free Wi-Fi facility available at all ECR stations

For the convenience of the passengers, a free Wi-Fi Internet Connection facility has been made available at the stations of East Central RAILWAY (ECR). At present free high-speed Wi-Fi available at 405 stations out of 409 stations targeted under passenger facility on ECR.

Due to the availability of this facility at all the major stations of all the five divisions Danapur, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Dhanbad, Sonpur and Samastipur divisions spread over 4215 route kilometers, the students, general passengers, businessmen and employed people coming to the station have got a lot of convenience.

The project has been taken up as a mission to transform railway stations into hubs of digital inclusion. The responsibility of implementing this remarkable Digital India initiative has been entrusted to RailTel, a Psu of Indian Railways. RailTel is providing state of the art public Wi-Fi under the brand name of ‘Railwire’. Till now this facility is being provided by RailTel at more than 6070 stations across India.

The number of Wi-Fi subscribers at these stations is increasing day by day. Railway stations have been developed as Wi-Fi hubs. Passengers coming to the station can use this facility to download online classes, Videos, movies, songs, games as well as deal with their other government work online. Adanis edu project aids govt students, says study

The Adani Foundations ongoing Gyanodaya project across 314 government schools in Godda has managed to improve the performances of the students in their annual and board examinations and their overall attendances, a study by Bengaluru-based Azim Premji University published last month has claimed.

Under the project, the Adani Group, which is setting up a thermal power plant in the district, prepares and supplies content for digital Learning to over 60,000 students of classes VI to X across 314 schools from 2018 as a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The company has also installed smart classes in the schools to facilitate digital learning.

The National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB)reportCrime In India 2020 has revealed thatJharkhandregistered a very high number of criminal cases, including murder and offences related to Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST) and dowry.

In Jharkhand, the highest number of murders took place for personal gains as the motive followed by vendetta and enmity (269), love affairs (62), dowry (56) and illicit relationships (36).

The rate of crime under the Dowry Act was at 8.2%, which was also the highest among all the states. Karnataka with a figure of 4.6% was second while the national Average was 1.6%. The state also registered 1,518 dowry cases in which 1,535 persons became victims. The projected Population of Women during the year was 185.9 lakh.

Jharkhand also recorded the highest number of cases under the SC, ST Prevention of Atrocities Act with a figure of 180 while Rajasthan came second with 29 cases. A total of 479 cases related to various SC, ST acts was recorded in Jharkhand, which was the second highest. UP was on the top of list with 2,578 cases.

Director, Directorate of Urban Administration, Vijaya Jadhav on Friday stressed on empowering poor women and motivating them to engage in self-employment She said this during training cum capacity building programme organised to Community Resource Servicemen (CRPs) under Dindayal Antodaya Yojna- National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM) of all urban bodies through Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS).

Jadhav said that under NULM, CRPs of all urban bodies of the State would be given capacity building training through JSLPS. She directed that all Didi make at least 15 Women of their area aware and connect them with the scheme.

The objective of the training program was to empower poor women belonging to self-help groups of urban areas, to develop their intellect and to develop mutual understanding among them. This training program was completely process based. Through this, the capacity building of the trainees was done.

Three Days Residential Orientation cum Screening Training Program of CRPs under DAY-NULM was organized from Wednesday to Friday at three different places in Ranchi under the supervision of Jadhav in which a total 120 trainees in groups of 40-40 were successfully trained.

Jharkhands Khelo India Sporting Centre to be functional by July

The state capital will have the Khelo India Sporting Centre of Excellence (KISCE) to harness sporting talent and groom them for international tournaments, including the Olympics, by July-end.

The KISCE will be set up in Ranchi for hockey, archery, and athletics and is expected to become functional by July-end, she added.
Conceptualised by the Union ministry of Sports, the KISCEs are aimed at overhauling existing sporting in a particular state so that it can deliver best training to athletics of selected sporting disciplines.

Besides the KISCE, all 24 districts of Jharkhand will have one Khelo India Centre in the coming months. The district sports officers have been tasked to identify the sporting disciplines which are popular in their districts and send recommendations to the sports directorate, Lakra added.

In an attempt to provide better irrigation facilities in 14 districts of the State where Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) is going on Jharkhand Tribal Development Society (JTDS), a unit of the Welfare Department, Government of Jharkhand is planning to provide Solar based irrigation systems.

The Project Director said that JTDS has constructed a total of 1981 pounds in 14 TSP districts under Jharkhand Tribal Empowerment and Livelihoods project (JTELP). These ponds will be used for Irrigation through solar machines. The local community is responsible for maintenance of the same. The user charges will be there in the system for use. It will generate a sense of responsibility among users, he added.

The areas where the Solar based irrigation system to be provided to the farmers are in Ranchi – Bundu, Tamar, Angara, Khunti – Karra, Arki, Simdega – Sadar, Kurdeg, Latehar – Barwadih, Manika, Gumla – Sisai, Bharno, Lohardaga – Bhandra, Kairo, East Singhbhum – Potka, Dumaria, West Singhbhum – Tonto, Sonua, Khutpani, Goelkera, Dumka – Masalia, Gopikander, Godda – Sunderpahari, Boarijore, Pakur – Amrapara, Littipara, Sahibganj – Borio, Taljhari, Jamtara – Sadar, Fatehpur and in Saraikela Kharsawan – Kuchai, Saraikela, Rajnagar.

State mulls opening Yoga and AYUSH centres in tourist places

The State Health Department has sought help from the Centre in opening and AYUSH centers in the famous tourist places Netarhat and Patratu. A video conferencing meeting was held in the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education.

In connection with the approval of the Annual Action Plan of Jharkhand State for the financial year 2023-24, under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Ministry, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, many important things were discussed in this meeting.

Points were also discussed during this, 18 schemes were approved for Jharkhand AYUSH including four new schemes totalling Rs 159.36 crores. Last year also, 50 bedded Ayush Dhanwantri Hospitals in Ranchi and East Singhbhum districts were set up by the Government of India. Approval was also given for five 10 bedded Ayush Dhanwantri Hospitals in Gumla, Palamu, Deoghar, Dumka and Bokaro districts.

According to the ministry, its aim is to take AYUSH medicine to the last person in the rural areas of Jharkhand. For this, there is a target to open a total of 745 Ayush Health and Wellness Centers. Against this, 550 Ayush health and wellness centers have been opened. The remaining AYUSH Health and Wellness Centers will be opened by September, 2023.

Around 18 lakh students at Government Schools in State start receiving the digital content prepared by Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC). The JEPC has prepared the digital content which is study material consisting of written text and video clips. The digital content has been prepared class and subject wise consisting of best study material at portal at national level and teachers from schools in State.

With the rise in corona cases in the past few weeks in a bid to provide classroom-like Education experience at Home and reduce educational loss due to lockdowns, the Jharkhand school education and Literacy (SEL) department has asked teachers to provide TEACHING to students through digital content. The department has asked teachers to focus on teaching once again through digital content.

The Jharkhand government in the past few months has launched various innovative ways of teaching. The education department last year launched two educational applications for students of class 1 to class 12. The first App namely Learnytic will be dedicated for the students of class 9 to class 12, while another App namely Digischool for students of class 1 to class 8.

The two apps, which were launched last year are very handy and convenient for students. The app for class 9 to class 12 contains e-book, regular syllabus, revised syllabus, digital content, video and animation contents, model questions papers and their answers. Its a complete package.

598 Ranchi govt schools directed to repair kitchens

TheJharkhand Education Project Council(JEPC) has directed the school management committees (SMC) of 598 schools in the district to renovate their kitchens within a fortnight.

The council has fixed a deadline for the committees to complete the work between March 22 and March 25. Once the work is completed, the junior engineer and the block elementary education officer (BEEO) of the blocks concerned will inspect the quality of work done and report to the JEPC about the same.
