Target to facilitate education of 9 lakh adolescent girls: J’khand Govt

TheJharkhand government said it aims at facilitating the education of nine lakh adolescent girls in the state under theSavitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana(SPKSY). The welfare programme was launched by Chief MinisterHemant Sorenin October last year from Giridih along with the ‘Aapki Yojana Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ campaign, an initiative to take the benefits of various government schemes at the doorsteps of villagers.

“The Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana is an effort of the state government to facilitate the education of adolescent girls and a step towards women empowerment and gender justice…Nine lakh adolescent girls of the state shall be covered by this scheme,” a statement issued by the government said.

Under the ‘Aapki Yojana’ campaign, which went on for a month, three lakh adolescent girls were linked to the scheme.

The objective of the scheme is not only providing financial assistance to adolescent girls for education, but also ensuring that the girls don’t drop out from school, and preventing child marriage, it said.

Recently the state government expanded the scope of the overseas scholarship by signing an MoU with the British High Commission.

Azim Premji Foundation to set up university in Jharkhand

CEO of Azim Premji Foundation, Anurag Behar, met Chief Minister Hemant Soren today and reiterated his resolve to ensure his participation in the development of Jharkhand. He told the Chief Minister that the Foundation would play an active role in the development of education, quality education and improving the academic environment in Jharkhand. The Chief Minister assured the Foundation of all possible cooperation from the Government.

The Foundation expressed to open a university in Jharkhand. Behar told the Chief Minister that about Rs 1200 to Rs 1400 crore would be spent on setting up the university. The campus of the university will be spread over an area of 150 acres. Here the students will be given employable and quality education. The intention of opening a university here has been expressed by the Foundation in the same series of topics that were discussed during the online conversation of Azim Premji of Wipro Company with the Chief Minister recently.

The CEO of the Foundation told the Chief Minister that the Foundation would cooperate in improving primary and secondary education. The foundation will extend all possible help in meeting the needs of the schools which are being developed as model schools by the government.

To provide dignified livelihoods to over 20,000tribal womenengaged in selling Hadiya (rice beer), theJharkhandStateLivelihoodPromotion Society (JSLPS) in collaboration with an international NGO Green Digital has launched a project to generate income.

The project, Advancing Tribal Livelihood and Self Reliance (ATLAS), aims to provide alternative livelihoods to such women by assisting them on the modern Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) based agricultural practices.

On the criteria of beneficiaries to be covered by the project, Sahay said, All beneficiaries of Phulo Jhano Ashirvad Scheme, as well as those who are involved in the manufacturing and sale of alcoholic drinks like Hadiya, will be selected under the project. Digital Green will provide the beneficiaries with the latest technology and equipment.

Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) will provide technical support to the schemes and programmes running under the Urban Livelihood Mission in the State. In order to implement it at ground level a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Rural Development Department and Urban Development Department.

Rural Development Department Secretary Dr Manish Ranjan said that it is a historic moment when two departments of the State are starting an initiative through mutual agreement to provide livelihood to urban masses which also affected immensely during the COVID period. Together, the two departments of the State will cooperate with each other to remove poverty in urban and rural areas, he added.

Gadkari promises Rs 2 Lakh Crore Highway network in State

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari laid foundation and inaugurated 31 projects to the tune of Rs 13,296 crore in Jharkhand on Thursday. Out of the 31 projects nine are for Jamshedpur region, with an estimated cost of Rs 3,378 crore and 21 are for Ranchi region, with an investment of Rs 9,453 crore.

On the occasion, the Union Minister assured to strengthen the road infrastructure in the State and said that a network of highways worth Rs 2 lakh crores will be established in Jharkhand by the year 2024. He said that the network of world class roads will be set up in the State including parts of the Bharatmala and economic corridors to pull Jharkhand in the league of developed States.

Gadkari further said the State has abundant natural resources apart from coal and iron and an excellent infrastructure here could propel it to develop, which in turn will lead to the growth of the nation.He said thata good network of roads and highways will boost industrial activity in the State and also create enormous employment opportunities.

The Union Minister, on the occasion, also asked the State government to send proposals for ropeways. He said that no such proposal was received from Jharkhand, while on the other hand 260 such proposals have been received from states throughout the country.

Hazaribagh rail connectivity with Ranchi soon: Jayant

The Hazaribag Member of Parliament and former central minister Jayant Sinha on Monday said that that Hazaribag will be connected with rail route via Barkakana very soon. The four long route train will pass through Hazaribag railway station very soon.

Sinha further said that on the voice of Hazaribag and Ramgarh, the work to complete the Hazaribag railway line was in progress. This is efforts of the both the district that the track has been ready to start the long train route be possible.

The project is with the amount of Rs 3800 crores. The train between Barkakana and Ranchi will pass through the four tunnels and save the time of at least two hours. The public of Hazaribag will reach to Ranchi by train less than the time taken by the bus by road.

Agricultural progress to open ways of overall development in State

Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development (MRD), Government of India Charanjit Singh and Livelihood Mission Directors of Gujarat, Assam and Tamil Nadu, inspected the Integrated Livelihood Agriculture System under Karra Block in Khunti District on Friday. During the visit the Joint Secretary said that works of common masses along with sisters of the District Administration and Sakhi Mandal are highly appreciable.

On the occasion, Mission Director of Gujarat , KC Sampad, Mission Director of Tamilnadu, Pallvi Baldeo, Mission Director, Mission Director of Assam, Krishna Barua, Khunti Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shashiranjan, Deputy Development Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Officer as well as representatives of other states and other block level officials were present.

Singh, while addressing the villagers, told that the goal of all of us should be that we can move forward on the path of multifaceted progress. He said that Jharkhand has a lot of potential in the field of agriculture. Especially if done on a large scale, farmers will get direct benefits. The aim of all of us should be that farmers can get direct benefit from it. Work of the general public along with the sisters of the district administration and Sakhi Mandals are highly appreciable. Along with this, the self-confidence of the villagers also increased to move forward in this direction, he added.

Jkhand to roll out smart agro village scheme soon

The state agriculture department is soon going to launch smart agro village scheme to develop several pockets into model agri-centres which will promote latest farming techniques and boost farmers income.

Local MLAs have been asked to recommend sites for the scheme in their respective constituencies.

Detailing on the scheme, he said, Under this project, we aim to develop the identified hamlet into a model and sustainable agriculture zone.

Expressing a need to digitalise safety, Gopal Kumar, chief inspector of factories, Jharkhand, on Monday said that over 1000 severe incidents got registered in 2020 and led to avoidable human deaths. Addressing the 3rd Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jharkhand Safety Conclave at Beldih Club, he said that safety is multidimensional and cannot be defined. Since the formation of Factories and Mines Act, lots of work has been done in the field of Safety and yet many more things need to be done. Around seven per cent of the world’s population are working as engineers or as workers on sites which need to be alert and cautious during their work at shop floors.

He further stated that digitisation is the need of the hour for safety as it bridges the gap between man, process uncertainty and safety officers. Through the help of digitalisation, we can get insights of uncertainty and can get enough time to handle and avoid it. In coming times, Digitisation would not be an option, it will be obligatory and part of our life.

CII Jharkhand organised its third edition of Industrial Safety Conclave today with the theme of Leveraging Digital Initiatives for Improving Industrial Safety. The objective of the CII Jharkhand Industrial Safety Conclave was to inspire the stakeholders towards building an even stronger culture of safety in their organisations.
