Haryana has once again made its mark in area of cleanliness by winning a State award in the Swachh Survekshan-2021 survey wherein two cities of Haryana have bagged the award of ‘Garbage-Free City’ and one city has won the ‘Safaimitra Suraksha Challenge’.

All these Awards will be given to Haryana in the upcoming Swachh Amrit Mahotsav to be held in New Delhi on November 20. 12 of the State have been certified as ‘ODF Plus-Plus’ and 43 other Urban Local Bodies with ‘ODF Plus’.

In the Swachh Survekshan-2020 also, Haryana had performed excellently in terms of cleanliness.

During the Swachh Survekshan-2020 last year, 6 cities were certified as 5-star, 65 cities were rated 3-star and 70 cities were rated 1-star, while the Municipal Corporation, Karnal got 3-star rating and Municipal Corporation, Rohtak got 1-star rating. Also, 13 cities which include Gurugram, Karnal, Rohtak, Ambala, Ganaur, Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Panipat, Gharaunda, Rewari, Sampla, Hisar and Radaur had been declared as ‘ODF Plus-Plus’ and 16 cities were declared as ‘ODF Plus’.

Haryana sets up ‘green war room’ to fight bad air

TheHaryanaState Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has set up a ‘green war room’ for monitoring compliance of dust mitigation measures at construction sites and overall steps taken to mitigate Air Pollution.

The war room will operate 24×7 to monitor the state’s air quality throughout the winter.

HSPCB will periodically review compliance of the dust mitigation measures at construction and demolition sites.

The Graded Response Action plan (GRAP) for NCR has now been classified under four different stages of adverse air quality in Delhi reflected through the air quality index (AQI). Stage 1 is when AQI is ‘poor’ (201-300), Stage 2 when it is ‘very poor’ (301-400), Stage 3 ‘severe’ (AQI 401-450) and Stage 4 ‘severe plus’ (AQI over 450). Actions under Stages 2, 3 and 4 shall be invoked at least three days in advance of the AQI reaching to the projected levels of that stage, based on the dynamic model and meteorological forecast.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lay the foundation stone of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor. Khattar met the Prime Minister at the latter’s residence in New Delhi to extend the invitation.

After the meeting, the Chief Minister while talking to the mediapersons said that PM Modi has been invited to visit Haryana to lay the foundation stone of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor to be constructed at a cost of Rs 5600 crore. He said that the foundation stone laying programme would be organized at Manesar or Palwal or any other place on the Orbital Rail Corridor route in Haryana.

Khattar said that he has apprised the Prime Minister about the new initiatives being taken by the Haryana Government like Parivar Pehchan Patra, Meri Fasal-Mera Byora, Mera Pani-Meri Virasat and Auto Appeal Software.

The committee shall hold discussions with the farmers organizations to resolve the issue of blockades of inter-state roads and national highways to avoid any inconvenience to the general public. The concerned divisional commissioners, commissioners of Police, Inspectors General of Police, District magistrates and superintendents of police shall also be associated with the committee for holding discussions with the farmers.

NABARD sanctions loan of Rs 737 cr for 3 projects in Hry

Out of six projects worth Rs 1565 crore sent by Haryana Government during the current financial year 2021-22, the National Bank for Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture and Rural Development () has sanctioned three projects with loan amount of Rs 737 crore while other three are still under consideration.

These include projects of the Public Health and Engineering Department, Public Works Department (Building and Roads), Irrigation-and-water”>Irrigation and water Resources Department, Food and Civil Supplies Department, HAREDA.

In the last financial year of 2020-21, the State has received 44 percent more financial assistance from NABARD as compared to the financial year 2019-20. During the pandemic, the state was also able to get financial assistance of Rs 1,030 crore in the year 2020-21 as against Rs 468 crore in the year 2014-15.

Haryana was earlier known only as an agro-based economy, but today it has become one of the leading industrial and service sector economies of the country, he said.

The state’s GDP has seen the highest Growth in the country in the last 10 years and is consistently ranked among the top three fastest growing states in the country.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched Local Bodies Vikas Nidhi Portal.

The portal will facilitate the transfer of funds as per needs of local bodies in a transparent manner by the Finance Department in coordination and consultation with Development and Panchayats Department, Department and Local Bodies concerned.

The State Government has constituted the Inter-District Council (IDC) to strengthen the local bodies in terms of their financial and functional Empowerment. In this direction Local Bodies Vikas Nidhi Portal was designed and developed on the principle of Purav Yojana Purn Yojana by the Finance Department in consultation with Departments concerned.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister was apprised that the portal will further strengthen the monitoring mechanism, timely utilisation of funds meant for development activities as well as committed expenditure of the local bodies. Further, as the portal is dynamic in nature, new features to facilitate the tracking of flow of funds to the end-user, overlapping of development activities, non-parking of funds in bank accounts by local bodies etc will be added in due course.

Now, 1.2 crore will have access to free doorstep health checkup

The has added more beneficiaries to itsNirogi Haryana scheme, under which it conducts door-to-door Health screening of the economically weaker section. Earlier,Haryanahad a target of screening around 98.1 lakh people with an annual income of Rs 1.8 lakh or less. On Thursday, the state increased the number to 1.2 crore after a survey – a rise of nearly 24%.

The check-ups are meant to be done at least once every two years. The scheme aims to detect diseases at the earliest to lessen the burden of treatment costs on the patient’s family. Under the revised target, a total of 4,38,682 people will be screened in the city, up from 3,48,556 earlier.

The identified Population is categorised into six age groups for the purpose of check-ups. While category 1 covers infants up to six months of age, category 2 covers children aged six to 59 months. The third category includes children aged five to 18 years, while category 4 covers the 18-40 age group and category 5 the 40-60 age group. Those over 60 years of age fall under category 6.

The scheme was launched by President Droupadi Murmu at the Civil Hospital in Kurukshetra in November last year. It was announced by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar in his budget speech in 2022.

Project to boost village healthcare infra begins

Aiming at strengthening the healthcare in rural areas and also reducing the pressure on the tertiary care system, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday launched a pilot project – Sanjeevani Pariyojana on the theme of Swasth Karnal, banega missal through video-conferencing, under which end-to-end healthcare will be ensured to Home-isolated patients who are around 94 per cent of the total patients in the district.

It is a Karnal model of supervised home care to combat the second wave of the Covid-19 and it will be implemented in other districts of the state subsequently, claimed the authorities.

The District Administration with the help of a multinational company, Deloitte, had chalked out this project, under which six facilities have been extended, particularly in rural areas.

750 villages will have streetlights in Haryana, says CM

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday said streetlights will be installed in 750 villages with more than 10,000 Population and CCTV cameras will be installed in the big villages of the state from a security point of view. A decision for making arrangements for the installation of CCTV cameras will be taken soon, Khattar said while interacting with the residents of Dhatir village in Palwal district, during a Jan Samvad programme.

Khattar visited Palwal as part of his Jan Samvad programme during which he visited villages and interacted with the people. During the Jan Samvad programme organized in Bagpur village, Palwal, Khattar announced to upgrade the girls primary school in the village, besides sanctioning Rs 4.15 crore for Solra road and Rs 2.10 crore for Bagpur road. On the demand of EMPLOYMENT for Women of the village, the chief minister ordered the formation of two self-help groups. Through self-help groups, the government is providing interest-free loans to women for employment. Earlier this month, Khattar had held Jan Samvad at several villages in Bhiwani as part of his three-day tour to the district. Khattar started the Jan Samvad programme in Rohtak district last year.

Over 41% rural households in Haryana still rely on firewood: NSSO

Over 41 per cent households in rural Haryana are still relying on firewood, chips and crop residue for cooking while 3.7 per cent use dung cakes, reveals the Multiple Indicator Survey report of the National Sample Survey Office (NSS) 78th round.

Just 54.3 per cent households in rural areas of state are using LPG. However, in urban areas, the LPG usage has jumped to 94 per cent.

The survey was initially planned to be conducted during January-December, 2020, but due to the Covid pandemic, the data collection was continued up to August 15, 2021.

In rural Haryana, 3.3 per cent households dont have access to latrines and hand-washing facility. There are 4.3 per cent households that wash hands with water and ash or mud or sand, while 8.2 per cent wash hands with water only. There are 84.2 per cent rural households that wash hands with water and soap.

In comparison, in Punjab, 69 per cent rural Women have access to mobile phones and in urban areas it is 77 per cent. The neighbouring Himachal Pradesh has even better statistics, as 78.5 rural women there have access to mobile phones, while in urban areas it is 88.3 per cent.

Indebtedness is higher in rural Haryana among males in comparison to those living in urban areas. There are 17,583 males per lakh Population in rural areas, aged 15 and above, who were indebted to any institutional or non-institutional agency during the survey time-frame, while the figure for urban areas was 9,571 per lakh population.

In comparison, Punjab has more indebted men with 18,930 of them per lakh population (15 and above) in rural areas being indebted, while in urban areas the figure was 14,826 per lakh population.

The state agricultureminister JP Dalalchaired the district grievance committee meeting where around 25 issues of the people were taken up and 16 were resolved.

Dalal said the upcoming state budget would have several schemes and announcements for the welfare of farmers. The state budget, which will be presented by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on February 23, will follow the union budget in providing the welfare schemes.

The issue related to several illegal guest houses in HSVP sectors was also raised in the meeting. On being inquired about the action taken by the department, the minister was informed that HSVP had issued notices to illegal guest houses in sectors 38, 45, 46 and 57.
