To promote beekeeping in the State, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday launched the Haryana Bee Keeping Policy-2021 and action plan 2021-2030.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister directed the officers to aim to enhance the production of honey by 10 times by 2030. He also directed officers to motivate the farmers to start bee keeping and get 5000 new farmers to take up the initiative for which the State will provide help.

He said that with the farmers involved in beekeeping, they will be encouraged to sow alternative crops like sunflower and mustard. The sale of honey and its by-products like Royal Jelly, Beewax, Propolis, Bee Pollen and Bee Venom will enhance the income of the farmers many times over, he said.

Khattar also directed the officers to ensure focus on small farmers to help increase their income through beekeeping.

The Manohar Lal Khattar Government in Haryana got the contentious The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (Haryana Amendment) Bill, 2021 passed in the State Assembly, amid protest and walkout by the Congress.

The amendment, which essentially allows to speed up the land acquisition process for development projects, was passed after the rejected the demand of Congress to send it to the Select Committee of the House for greater scrutiny.

It was among the six Bills passed by the State Assembly, on the last day of the monsoon session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha. Terming the bill as anti-farmers, former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that with the amendment, the government has removed the clause of the prior Consent of at least seventy per cent of those affected families for public private PARTNERSHIP projects.

The State Government intends to amend the Principal Act of 2013 to exempt certain development projects, including rural Infrastructure, affordable housing, industrial corridors, Health, Education and urban metro rail projects, from the preview Act pertaining to conducting Social Impact Assessment Study.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said that special incentives will be given for setting up pharma industries in the state.

The is focusing on boosting small, micro and medium scale industries and is steadily working towards developing the state into a hub of pharmaceutical Industry, the Chief Minister said while presiding over a meeting with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) held digitally,

The Chief Minister elaborated that a major area of the state falls under the NCR-region and it has Sound parameters and is all set to compete with other states.

He said that Haryana stood third in Ease of Doing Business. Besides this, the state has put 18 Departments under one umbrella where it is made mandatory to give clearance in 45 days. The State Government has formulated the Haryana Entrepreneur and EMPLOYMENT Enterprises Policy and under its ambit several facilities are being provided to the industry, he said.

Khattar further said that the State Government aims to set up a large number of such clusters at the district level under MSMEs so as to provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth of the state. With this scheme, more Marketing can be done at less cost.

Nutrition gardens to come up in 120 govt schools in Ambala

As many as 120 government schools in the district have been identified to grow seasonal vegetables for the mid-day meal.

An official in the Education Department said though the department, for the past several years, had been asking the schools to grow vegetables, very few schools showed interest in maintaining the Nutrition garden due to various reasons.

Recently, during a visit to government schools, the District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO) noticed the efforts made by the teachers of Government Primary School, Rupamajra, and Government Senior Secondary School, Kesri, and facilitated the teachers with appreciation certificates.

They have been growing vegetables, including brinjal, bottle gourd, onions, capsicum and cauliflower. A list of 120 schools had been prepared where nutrition garden can be set up and the schools will get a grant of Rs 5,000 each to set up the gardens.

Survey: Less than 1% positivity rate in Haryana rural areas

The had launched a Health check-up scheme in about 5,000 villages on May 15 following an increase ofCovid-19cases in rural areas ofHaryana.

So far, 75,000 Covid tests have been carried out in rural areas of the state. Out of them, only 562 have people have tested positive so far a positivity rate of 0.7%. With this, health department officials said they have been able to contain Covid spread in rural areas.

In 164 rural areas of Gurgaon with a Population of over 3.8 lakh, only 24 people have tested positive. Around 1.7 lakh people in these villages have been screened so far, out of which 1,480 were found to have influenza-like illnesses (ILI).

Healthcare workers are conducting door-to-door healthscreeningcamps covering each household in every village in Haryana.

Haryana to establish Automated Testing Stations to reduce pollution

Haryana Government is establishing six Automated Testing Stations (ATS) in the state which will help to reduce Air Pollution and improve the overall sustainability of transportation, Chief Secretary, Sanjeev Kaushal said in a meeting to review the enforcement of the ban on 10/15 years old vehicles and the mandatory use of Smog Guns.

Kaushal directed the Deputy Commissioners of Faridabad and Gurugram to assess the gap of anti-smog guns and submit its report with on one month. Besides this, the officers concerned of Gurugram and Faridabad must ensure that all construction and demolition projects must deploy and ensure frequent and effective use of adequate number of anti-smog guns, in proportion of the total area of construction for the project as at least 1 for a total construction area between 5000-10000 sqm, at least 2 for a total construction area between 10001 – 15000 sqm, at least 3 for a total construction area between 15001 – 20000 sqm and at least 4 for a total construction area above 20,000 sqm.

Gender ratio at birth falls below 400 in 20 Kurukshetra villages

The gender ratio at birth in 20 villages of Kurukshetra in Haryana was recorded below 400 in 2022 while the districts ratio dropped by 28 points from 921 in 2021 to 893 last year.

Alarmed at the decline given Haryana’s gender ratio of 917 girls born per 1,000 boys, the district authorities have zeroed in on 80 of the 419 villages that have seen a decline in the ratio. A decision has been taken to hold monthly review meetings with auxiliary nurse midwives (ANMs), accredited social Health activists (ASHAs) and other health officials concerned.

Of the 20 villages on the district administrations radar, Barachpur recorded an alarming gender ratio of 77 last year. Inhabited mostly by Scheduled Cates and Backward Classes, the village has a Population of around 1,000. As per the Health Departments data, 14 children were born in the village in 2022, of whom 13 were boys. The situation was different in 2021 when a gender ratio of 909 was recorded with the birth of 11 boys and 10 girls.

Khattar said it is a matter of pride that Haryana is the host of the 26th All India Forest Sports Meet. Prior to this, the sports meet has been successfully organized twice in Haryana; 10th meet in the year 2003 and 13th meet in 2013.

The ministry of Environment and forest, Government of India, organizes the All India Forests Sports Meet on an annual basis; the responsibility of which is assigned to a state. With the aim to promote sports in the Forest Department, the 1st All India Forest Sports Meet was organized at Hyderabad in the year 1993 and till date, this meet has been organized 25 times.

Ayushman Bharat for families with income up to 1.8L: Haryana CM Khattar

The Haryana Government has decided to extend the benefits of Ayushman Bharat to all those families whose annual family income is less than Rs 1.80 lakh and to those who are not included in Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) data.

The process of registration of all such families having verified income has been started. Three phases of income verification have already been done. Now the data of these verified families would be uploaded on the Ayushmaan Bharat portal so that they can get their cards, said Khattar.

The CM said under the Parivar Pehchan Patra, there were around 23,000 eligible old-age pension beneficiaries who had not availed the benefits.
