The students of such eligible schools will be given a Scholarship of Rs 500 per month from Class 1 to 8 and Rs 1,000 per month from Class 9 to 12, an official press release said.

The School Education Department has asked all Collectors to implement the scheme in coordination with the School Education, Health and Social Welfare departments.

Besides children who lost their parents, those children who have lost the family breadwinner can also benefit from the scheme.

Eligible children will get free education in government schools and priority in admission to the state-run Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools in the state.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday said the work done by Anganwadi workers, assistants and Mitanin was incomparable. No one else can do their work and they are an example of service to humanity.

He was addressing the Abhaar Sammelan at the Science College Ground here.

The event was held by the Women and Child Development Department to thank the Chief Minister for hiking the honorarium of Anganwadi workers, assistants and Mitanins.

Baghel felicitated six Anganwadi workers and five Mitanins for excellent work. Six self-help groups were handed over a cheque of loan amount of Rs. 10 lakh from Mahila Kosh.

The Chief Minister pledged that the annual income limit of women will be increased from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh for the benefit of the scheme under Saksham Yojana.

The limit of loan amount given to women groups will be increased from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. He also pledged to construct 5,000 Anganwadi buildings.

Baghel said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Anganwadi workers, assistants and Mitanins did when none else did. They continued to work during lockdown fighting Malnutrition.

Similarly, he praised their role in the fight against malaria. The door-to-door malaria tests were done by Mitanins and medicines were distributed, helping to bring down the malaria cases.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday formally launched the “Mukhyamantri Noni Sashaktikaran Yojana”, a scheme which provides financial assistance to the first two daughters of families of labourers.

He launched the scheme by handing over cheques of Rs 20,000 each to 16 beneficiary daughters in his Home constituency Patan.

Under the scheme, an amount of Rs 20,000 will be given to the first two daughters of the beneficiaries registered in Chhattisgarh Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

The amount is given for the Education, EMPLOYMENT, self-employment and marriage of the daughters.

Chhattisgarh chief ministerBhupeshBaghelhas written a letter to Prime MinisterNarendra Modiurging him to direct the authorities concerned to release the schedule for new census.

The census operations, which was scheduled to be held in 2021, was stopped due to the pandemic. For the last 150 years, census was carried out every ten years and the data collected gives information about socio-economic and cultural changes in the country , Baghel said.

Pointing out that the figures of socio-economic situation collected during 2011 census is no longer relevant, the chief minister said along with the census, a new survey should also be started at the earliest to identify the deprived and eligible beneficiaries.

Chief MinisterBhupesh Baghel inaugurated a bridge on Indravati river in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Dantewada district, which is strategically important as it will provide all weather connectivity to around 40 villages located in Abhujmad forests, an official said.

The 712 metre long bridge, built at a cost of Rs 47 crore, is located near Chhindnar village, which is 30 kilometres from Geedam town and 400 kilometres from here, he said.

The CM announced the bridge will be named after former sarpanch of Pahurnar villagePoseram Kashyap, who was killed by Naxals in 2018 after he had demanded its construction.

The CM sanctioned an amount of Rs 10 crore for development works in panchayats and Rs 3.91 for electrification in villages on the other side of the river.

The Chhattisgarh government has launched a ‘Sughhar Padhvaiya’ programme to improve the skills of teachers in all government primary and middle schools.

A state-level webinar was organized on Thursday to give information about this programme to identified 400 teachers.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had announced this on Children’s Day. The objective of the scheme is to develop excellent academic skills in children by encouraging self-motivated and better performing teachers.

Ensuring its quick implementation, the School Education Department has designed the entire programme for training the teachers.

The task of developing tools for identification and inspection of competency for teachers of Classes I to VIII has been started under the direction of the State Educational Research and Training Council.
