Women gain financial independence with self-employment in Chhattisgarh

Gauthans have opened new pathways for the development of Women, giving them access to income-generating activities.

Numerous women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the Tilai Gauthan located in Jangir-Champa district are involved in various livelihood activities, an official communiqu said on Tuesday.

The families of these women are experiencing improved financial stability. These women have become a source of inspiration.

According to them, the Chhattisgarh government’s Suraji Gaon Yojana has proven to be highly beneficial. With livelihood activities in the Gauthan, women can access self-EMPLOYMENT opportunities within their villages.

The Aarti Women SHG is involved in vermicompost production and duck farming. They have prepared around 3,494 bags of organic manure and made them available to the societies.

The Jai Ma Lakshmi Group focuses on and fish farming. They have earned Rs 20,000 with an Investment of Rs 17,000 in poultry. The Jai Anndhari Group is engaged in commercial vegetable production. They have sold vegetables worth over Rs 54,000.

Cataract to be eliminated from Chhattisgarh by 2025

Chhattisgarhs Health Department is conducting a cataract elimination drive. In just two months, vision has been restored to 12,700 patients across the state.

The Chhattisgarh government has set a target to eliminate cataract from the state by 2025.

Symptoms may include faded colors, blurry or double vision, halos around Light, trouble with bright lights and trouble seeing at night.

This may result in trouble while driving, reading or recognizing faces. Poor vision caused by cataract may led to falling and depression, Shukla said.

Cataracts cause half of all cases of blindness and 33 percent of visual impairment worldwide.

The Agriculture and Bio-Technology Department in Chhattisgarh is motivating farmers to produce scented and fortified paddy for Kharif season 2021.

Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said in a statement said that if the farmers start producing scented and fortified paddy, the government will provide them input subsidy of Rs 10,000 per acre,under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana.

Choubey said in the current Kharif season the department has proposed a target of 2.47 lakh hectares for this variety of paddy.

He said till date 69,203 farmers have been selected for growing this paddy.

Registered labourers to get Rs 5L on accidental death: CM

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday pledged to increase the amount of assistance of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh to registered construction workers in the event of accidental death at the workplace.

He was addressing a workers conference held to mark the International Workers Day (Labour Day) at the Science College Ground in Raipur.

He said in case of permanent disability, the amount payable will be hiked from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh. Unregistered workers will also get assistance of Rs 1 lakh in case of death due to an accident at the workplace.

Baghel also announced a Chief Minister Construction Labour Monthly Season Ticket Card Scheme. It can be availed by registered construction workers who travel from their Home to the workplace by rail or bus.

Monthly ticket cards will be issued and are valid for travel up to 50 km. The Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Board will bear the cost.

Under the Chief Minister’s Construction Workers Assistance Scheme, he said a grant of Rs 50,000 will be given to factory workers for construction or purchase of new houses.

Apart from it, for treatment of serious diseases like heart surgery, liver transplant, kidney transplant, neuro surgery, spinal cord surgery, leg knee surgery, cancer and paralysis, a grant of Rs 20,000 will be given to factory workers.

The Chief Minister said around Rs 56 crore is being transferred to the labourers through direct bank transfer.

Over 44.19L benefit from Urban Slum Health Scheme

The Urban Slum Health Scheme has provided free health check-up and medical treatment to poor families in slums in Chhattisgarh.

44.19 lakh have availed the free treatment under the scheme provided by Mobile Medical Units.

A total of 120 mobile units equipped with doctors, paramedical teams, medical equipment and medicines regularly visit the urban slums.

So far, around 10.57 lakh patients have got pathology tests done and more than 37.41 lakh patients have got free medicines.

The beneficiaries include more than 2.76 lakh labourers.

Till now, 58,168 camps have been held in 169 urban bodies. The scheme is run by the Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh, an official Communication said.

The scheme was started in November 2020. In March 2022, it was expanded to the entire state.

Govt to give 20k to first two daughters of labourers

TheChhattisgarhgovernment has decided to give financial assistance of Rs 20,000 each to the first two daughters of labourer families for their Education, EMPLOYMENT and marriage.

Chief ministerBhupesh Baghelhad announced the scheme on Republic Day. To apply under Noni Sashaktikaran Sahayata Yojana, a labourer must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh and registered with the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Only adult, unmarried daughters of labourers can avail of the scheme.

Besides, one or both parents of the girl should be registered with the labour board for at least a year. The dependent daughter, for whom the application will be filed, should not be registered as a beneficiary with any other department or BOC board, said officials.

The can be used for education of daughters, employment, skill upgrade, self-employment, and marriage.

The scheme is a step towards making Women self-reliant, said officials of the labour department. The financial assistance will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of the daughters.

Govt process of eviction, sale of Rs 1 lakh crore enemy properties starts

The UnionHomeMinistry has started the process for eviction and sale of enemy properties, the immovable assets left behind by people who have taken of Pakistan and China.

There are a total of 12,611 establishments called Enemy Property, roughly estimated to be worth over Rs 1 lakh crore, in the country.

The enemy properties are vested with the Custodian of Enemy Property for India (CEPI), an authority created under the Enemy Property Act.

Those enemy properties having valuation of Rs one crore and below Rs 100 crore, shall be disposed of by the CEPI through e-auction or otherwise as may be decided by the central government and at the rate determined by theEnemy Property Disposal Committee. The e-auction platform of public enterprise, the Metal Scrap Trade Corporation Limited, shall be used by the CEPI for e-auction of enemy properties, the Home ministry said.

The government has earned over Rs 3,400 crore from disposal of enemy properties, mostly movable assets like Shares and gold, officials said.
The highest number of enemy properties were found in Uttar Pradesh (6,255 properties), followed by West Bengal (4,088 properties), Delhi (659), Goa (295),Maharashtra(208), Telangana (158), Gujarat (151),Tripura(105), Bihar (94), Madhya Pradesh (94),Chhattisgarh(78) and Haryana (71).

One Nation One Ration Card in Chhattisgarh

The One Nation One Ration card plan was recently enabled in the state of Chhattisgarh. With this, the One Nation One Ration card scheme has become operational in 35 states and union territories. It is now covering 96.8% of the Population included in the National Act.

Under the scheme, the Aadhaar number is linked to the ration cards. And also e point of sale machines are installed in public distribution shops. The beneficiaries shall get the food subsidies at any ration shop in the country. Earlier, they can only get in the ward where their card is registered. They cannot even get it the other ward in the same town.

The scheme works through Integrated Management of Public Distribution System portal, that is, IM PDS portal. The portal will provide technological platform. Also, it works through the Annavitran portal. This portal holds information about the food distribution and availability within the state. The citizens can earn the benefits of the scheme through these portals.

NQAS to 7 govt hospitals in Cgarh

Chhattisgarh’s seven government healthcare institutions on Friday received certificate of appreciation, National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

These certificates have been given to two of the district hospitals, two Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and three Urban Primary Health Centers in the state.

Similarly, the Kondagaon District Hospital got LaQshya certification for excellent facilities of maternity room and operation theatre for pregnant Women.

The National Quality Assurance Standards are broadly arranged under eight “Areas of Concern” Service Provision, Patient Rights, Inputs, Support Services, Clinical Care, Infection Control, Quality Management and Outcome.

These standards are ISQUA accredited and meet global benchmarks in terms of comprehensiveness, Objectivity, evidence and rigour of development.
