Chhattisgarh ranks second in ePMSMA

Chhattisgarh was ranked in the second position in the country on implementation of the Extended Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (ePMSMA).

Union Minister of State for Health Dr. Bharti Praveen Pawar honoured the state for the achievement at the National Maternal Health Workshop in New Delhi on Wednesday.

In the current fiscal from April to November, the state has conducted 1,48,851 antenatal care (ANC) tests on pregnant Women, an official Communication said.

Under the Prime Minister’s Safe Motherhood Campaign, the ANC test of pregnant women is done on the 9th of every month. Now, it is also conducted on the 24th of every month.

A unique bicycle Bambooka, made from bamboo, was launched at the National Tribal Dance Festival and Rajyotsava 2021 here on Monday.

Jagdalpur resident and founder-consultant of Naturescape, Asif Khan, has initiated the project by making Chhattisgarh’s first Bamboo bicycles.

He said the making of bamboo bicycles involves four prominent art and craft forms of Bastar: Dhokra art, iron (Wrought), shishal (wood) and bamboo craft.

All these are handcrafted, which is the identity of the tribal-dominated Bastar region, he said.

The aim was to generate EMPLOYMENT to the tribal youth of Bastar by reviving the extinct bamboo art and promoting it on a global platform.

Chhattisgarh has again topped the country with the lowest unemployment rate for September. A whopping 99.9 percent of the adult population is more or less associated with livelihood option and just 0.1 percent are unemployed in the state.

The Bhupesh Baghel governments pro-farmer policies contributed to the feat. The welfare schemes it launched has boosted the rural economy, the communiqu said.

The government’sambitious Godhan Nyay Yojana aims to strengthen the Cottage industries in villages to provide income-generating opportunities.

Under the scheme, Gauthans (cow sheds) have been set up in the rural areas.

Some of the livelihood-related activities in rural industrial parks include producing vermi-compost, goat farming, producing incense sticks and dona-pattal (leaf plate), fish farming and egg and mushroom production.

Tourist destinations Sitamadi-Harchauka and Ramgarh in Chhattisgarh’s Surguja region will be formally be inaugurated under the Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit on October 7.

Both places are related to the exile period of Lord Ram.

Under Ram Van Gaman circuit, nine sites were selected in the first phase to be developed as tourism pilgrimage. Sitamadi-Harchauka in Korea and Ramgarh in Surguja districts are among them.

During his exile, Ram entered Chhattisgarh from Korea. Sitamadi-Harchauka in Janakpur of Bharatpur Tehsil is believed to have been his first stop in Chhattisgarh.

There are 17 chambers in the caves of Sitamadi-Harchauka on the bank of Mawai river. This place is also known as Sita Ki Rasoi. There is a ‘Shilakhand’ here which is believed to be the footprint of Lord Ram.

The site also houses a Shivling. This place is known as Harchauka (kitchen). Ram reached Sitamarhi-Ghaghra on the banks of Rapa river from Harchauka.

There is a four-chambered cave about 20 feet above, in the middle of which the Shivling is established.

The caves of ‘Sitabengra’ and ‘Jogimara’ are believed to date back to the Mauryan period. Evidence of inscriptions in in Jogimara cave and inscriptions in Brahmi script of Gupta period are seen in Sitabengra cave.

Chhattisgarh: Campaign unmukt launched for release of eligible convicts

In a humanitarian step, Chhattisgarh state legal Services authority (CGSLSA) and the andJail Departmenthave jointly launched a campaign unmukt for release of those eligible convicts, who fall within the eligibility criteria laid down in the state policies for premature release of convicts.
This campaign owes its origin as per the direction ofSupreme Courtin a special leave petition (SLP) titled Sonadhar vs State of Chhattisgarh, wherein, the apex court picked three states Chhattisgarh, Utter Pradesh, and Bihar for launch of pilot project from August 1, this year.

CGSLSA Member secretary,Siddharth Aggarwalsaid that the timeline laid down by The Supreme Court shall be duly adhered to and this pilot project in Chhattisgarh will really facilitate the much needed experience for implementing it in other states, too.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel sought information about the doorstep facilities provided under the Tuhar Sarkar Tuhar Dwar Yojana, implemented by the Transport Department, and the Mitan scheme by the Urban Administration Department.

It was informed at the meeting that a total of 461 Transport Facilitation Centers (TFCs) have been established across the state.

Officials said drivers were being trained and provided with information related to traffic rules and safety.

Under the scheme, more than 21 lakh driving licenses and registration certificates were sent to applicants through Speed Post.

The officials further said that a total of 22 Services are provided under the Tuhar Sarkar Tuhar Dwar Yojana.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel later also reviewed the work of the Urban Administration and Development Department.

It was informed that 1,03,315 documents have been issued under the Mitan scheme.

11 industrial units begin production

Production started in 11 industrial units established in Chhattisgarh by May 2022. A capital of Rs 1,385 crore was made to set them up, providing EMPLOYMENT to 1,974 persons.

Due to the industrial friendly policy of the Chhattisgarh government, entrepreneurs have shown interest in setting up new industries in the state.

In the last three-and-a-half years, 178 MoUs have been signed for a proposed investment of Rs 90,000 crores, a Communication from the Industries Department said.

Out of this, production has started in 11 industrial units by May.

With an investment of Rs 2,741 crores byentrepreneurs, industrial units are under construction. So far, a total capital investment of Rs 4,126 crores have been made.

A total of 178 MoUs have been signed to establish industries in the state, with a capital of Rs 90,077 crores in the last three-and-a-half years. The proposed industries are expected to generate employment to 1.10 lakh people.

The rules related to establishing industries have been simplified. A single window system has been implemented to provide various clearances.

Most Services have been made online, practical provisions have been made for allotment of land to industries and freehold of land.

Under the National Health Missions Free Dialysis Programme, free of cost dialysis facility is being provided in eight district hospitals of Chhattisgarh, it was announced on Thursday.

The facility began in Durg, Kanker, Korba, Bilaspur, Mahasamund and Bijapur from 2020 and it was extended to Jashpur and Surguja districts in June this year, an official Communication said.

For dialysis, five machines have been set up in Jashpur and four in Ambikapur.

So far, a total of 12,933 dialysis sessions have been conducted in the eight district hospitals.

Of these, 3,499 took place in Durg, 2,606 in Kanker, 2,370 in Mahasamund, 1,864 in Bilaspur, 1,793 in Korba.

Godhan NYAY a new hope for women entrepreneurs

The Godhan NYAY Yojana in Chhattisgarh has emerged as a new hope for Women who manufacture vermicompost and do other economic activities in Gauthans.

It has resulted in empowering the women economically and providing them livelihood .

Members of the Sadguru Women Self-help Group and Farmer Welfare Committee in the Gauthan of Donde village in Pakhanjur Tehsil have earned Rs. 21.57 lakh through the manufacture of vermicompost, pisciculture, mushroom, vegetable cultivation, Poultry farming and from the sale of earthen lamps prepared from cow dung.

The President of the Sadguru Womens Self-Help Group, Nareshwari Kotwar, said the women in her group are manufacturing vermicompost from the cow dung purchased in Gauthans.

She said 13,200 quintals of cow dung were purchased in Gauthan; 3,614.92 quintals of vermicompost and 570 quintals of supercompost were manufactured by cooperative committees. This helped them earn a net income of Rs. 15.07 lakh.

Additionally, the sale of earthworms fetched them Rs. 1.77 lakh.

All 19 members of the womens self-help group have earned Rs. 113,000 each, which enabled them to arrange fee for their childrens Education.

Chhattisgarh health minister Singh Deo discusses states Covid situation with US doctors
