Chhattisgarh gets mineral revenue of Rs 12,941 Cr

The Chhattisgarh government has received a record revenue of Rs 12,941 crores from mining activities in 2022-23, which is Rs 636 crore more than the previous fiscal.

Another Rs 3,336 crore was earned from mineral coal, Rs 392 crore from limestone and Rs 31 crore from bauxite, an official Communication on Sunday quoted him as saying.

Dantewada district was in first place with Rs 6,419 crore, Kobra followed with Rs 2,361 crore, then came Raigarh Rs 1,717 crore, Balod Rs 760 crore, Baloda Bazar Rs 315 crore, Kanker Rs 286 crore and Surguja Rs 286 crore.

The Minerals mined in the state are contributing to the development of , production of electricity and operation of industries, the statement said.

The collection of Tendu leaves is proving to be a good livelihood option for forest dwellers in Chhattisgarh during the pandemic.

In the current season, nearly 4.76 lakh standard sacks of Tendu leaves have been collected from forests through primary forest produce — about a fourth of the total target.

Due to the closure of other livelihood Options amid a Covid-inducted lockdown, the forest dwellers are getting EMPLOYMENT by gathering forest produce. In the process, they are also contributing to Chhattisgarh’s economy in a major way.

The state has set an annual target of 16.71 lakh standard sacks of Tendu leaves in 2021. This provides work to over 12 lakh families. The value of Tendu patta has been hiked to Rs 4,000 per standard bag by the government.

Cgarh predicts more rabi crops

Chhattisgarh has predicted more in the current season, with the sowing rate 5.77 percent more compared to the previous season.

The Agriculture-notes-for-state-psc-exams”>Agriculture Department said rabi crops have been sown in 19.36 lakh hectares, which is 101 percent against a target of 19.25 lakh hectares.

In the previous year, the cultivation was in 18.30 lakh hectares. This year it is 5.77 percent more than last year, an official Communication said.

Pulses have been sown in 8.65 lakh hectares, accounting for 45 percent of the area proposed rabi crop cultivation.

The sowing has been done in pulses, oilseeds, sugarcane, vegetables and other crops. It includes wheat, maize, ragi and other coarse grains.

The Chhattisgarh government said that it has distributed another consignment of 8,800 Remdesivir injections to different hospitals amid reports of an acute shortage.

On Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghels instruction, Chhattisgarh State Road Development Corp Managing Director Bhoskar Vilas Sandipan and Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corp Managing Director Arun Prasad went to Mumbai and Hyderabad respectively to coordinate with the companies producing Remdesivir injection.

This has helped in keeping a continuous supply of the injections, the press release said. Sun Pharma provided 5,400 injections and Hetero Pharma 3,400. The supply will continue. The state got 9,100 Remdesivir injections.

Womens respect is part of Chhattisgarhs culture: CM

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said respect and honour to Women is part of the Chhattisgarh culture and that is why the state stood first in sex ratio across the country.

This is also the reason why women in the state were scaling new heights in all spheres, he added.

Baghel was addressing the people in the 27th episode of the radio programme Lokvaani aired from Akashvani on Chhattisgarh Sarkar – Naari Shakti Ke Sarokaar.

The Percentage of women members in the Chhattisgarh Assembly is more than any other House in the country, he said.

Also, there was a provision of 50 percent reservation for women in to Panchayati Raj institutions in the state, he said.

For daughters who want to become self-employed by joining Self-Help Groups through the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission, there is a Bihaan scheme, he said.

Hot food and ready-to-eat, take-Home rations were being provided to 171,000 pregnant women through ‘Mahtari Jatan Yojana’.

Cgarh reserves 10% industrial land for OBC

The Commerce and Industries Department of Chhattisgarh on Thursday issued a notification reserving 10 percent industrial lands in the state for the Other Backward Class (OBC).

The notification followed an announcement by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in his Independence Day speech.

An amendment in the Industrial Policy 2019-24 has been done for the reservation.

Apart from reservation of land, the land premium rate has also been curtailed 10 percent for the OBCs.

The reservation would be given to industrial lands of the Industries Department and of the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corp Ltd (CSIDC), the notification said.

Primary Forest Societies to procure minor millets

The Primary Forest Produce under the Chhattisgarh State Minor Produce Cooperative Federation Ltd will procure the kodo, kutki and ragi (minor Millets) from farmers on support price across the state.

The Cabinet took the decision on February 25, 2021.

Chhattisgarh launched a Millet Mission on September 14, 2021 to make the state a millet hub in the country.

Principal Secretary (Forest and Climate-change”>Climate Change) Manoj Pingua said that earlier, the procurement was limited to Scheduled Areas, mainly tribal blocks.

Kabeerdham, Rajnandgaon and Balod districts are also producing kodo, kutki and ragi. But these areas do not fall under the tribal-dominated areas, he said.

To facilitate the tribal farmers in other districts, the extended benefit of procurement on government support price of the minor millets has been handed over to the Primary Forest Produce Cooperative Society, he added.

Chhattisgarhs economy gains momentum

Chhattisgarhs economy has gained momentum with steps taken to increase the income of farmers through welfare schemes and for industrial development, leading to rise in and EMPLOYMENT opportunities.

In the last three years, 149 MoUs have been signed for a proposed capital investment of Rs 73,704.30 crores that will provide employment to 89,697 people.

The State Government, keeping in view the challenges created by Covid-19, gave many concessions and facilities.

The new Industrial Policy of Chhattisgarh gives priority to agriculture and forest produce based industries. The procedures to set up industries have been simplified.

A special investment incentive package has been arranged for investment in mega ultra projects in the steel (sponge iron and steel) sector. Industrial land and building management rules have also been simplified.

Bastar in Chhattisgarh was on Sunday declared the ‘Most Promising New Destination’ on the tourist map and an Excellence Award was presented to the Bastar district administration on the final day of the Travel and Tourism Fair in Kolkata.

During the Fair, special stalls for Bastar based tourism, culture and artefacts were displayed. The key tourist destinations of Chitrakote, Teertha, Bijakasa, Koserteda, Madarkonta, Mahendrighumar, Teerathgarh, Topar and Michnar were highlighted.

Chhattisgarh has potential for exports

Exporters and investors said on Monday that Chhattisgarh has great potential to boost exports but they sought concessions for transportation as it is a landlocked state.

The exporters and investors were participating in the Export Outreach Programme in Nava Raipur.

They discussed ways to increase exports from the state along with making Raipur district a hub.

The Directorate General of , New Delhi, and the Raipur District Administration organized the event, an official Communication said.

The exporters sought to continue the exemption of 5 percent in mandi fee issued to increase the export of rice, which is effective for a year. The exemption will end by next two months.
