The Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Bal Uday Yojana aims to take proper care of the children from child care institutions, said Kiranmayee Nayak, Chairperson, Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women.

She was addressing a day workshop to discuss the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Bal Uday Yojana by the Women and Child Development Department in collaboration with UNICEF at Labhandi, Raipur.

She said it is a unique scheme which prevents children from becoming criminals and guides them towards a bright future.

The scheme targets children going out from child care institutions after completing 18 years of age.

Under the scheme, 108 children of 69 child care institutions in the state have been identified in the first phase, an official Communication said.

Small enterprises and self-employment endeavours started in rural areas with government backing have created a new era of self-reliance in Chhattisgarh.

He interacted with students of Swami Atmanand English Medium School, beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana and Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, members of Women and beneficiaries of various other schemes.

The Chief Minister announced that Cooperative Bank will open a branch at Odgi and Latori area in Surajpur district and a bridge will be built across Banki river on the Sarhari-Singhra-Charampur road.

Drug-free campaign a commendable initiative: CM

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is a commendable initiative.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Nashamukt Chhattisgarh Abhiyan (Drug Free Chhattisgarh Campaign) organized by Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya at Shanti Sarovar in Raipur.

“The campaign is a laudable initiative,” an official communique quoted him as saying.

He said drug addiction usually starts from childhood or youth. First, they start drinking as a hobby, which gradually becomes a habit. Drug addiction is a big social evil which is harmful for all, physically and mentally, the Chief Minister said.

It affects the person, the family and the Society, he added.

Along with the Chief Minister, all dignitaries present took a pledge to make Chhattisgarh drug free. Baghel assured all cooperation from the government for a drug-free India.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has urged Union Minister for Industries Piyush Goyal that steel industries should be allowed to use 20 per cent quantity of oxygen produced in Chhattisgarh.

During his telephonic discussion to discuss the corona situation, Modi had assured Baghel that he will consider his request to allow the use of Oxygen in Chhattisgarh in 80:20 (medical and industrial) ratio. Baghel spoke over the telephone with Goyal over the issue and was asked by the Minister to send a proposal. In a letter, the Chief Minister said the total daily oxygen production capacity of various units in Chhattisgarh is 462 tonnes.

Under normal circumstances, oxygen is supplied to the steel makers in the state by the oxygen manufacturers. But due to corona cases, the Centre has banned the industrial use of oxygen. The Chief Minister mentioned that oxygen producing units are suffering due to lack of demand for oxygen while the steel making units in the state are shut due to lack of oxygen.

Keeping this in view, the steel makers should be allowed the use of 20 percent quantity of oxygen produced in the state, he said. If the demand for additional medical oxygen arises, the supply of oxygen to the steel units may be stopped immediately, he added.

Cgarh has a unique cultural identity: CM

Chhattisgarh is blessed with many places of historical, religious and cultural importance, which is a distinctive feature of its glorious culture, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said.

Baghel said Arang in the state is a place which both Lord Krishna and Lord Rama visited. The government is making efforts to save all such rich cultural heritage.

He said Krishna Kunj is being developed in the state in all the urban bodies. Trees of religious and cultural importance are being planted to increase the greenery of the cities and for a clean Environment.

A total of 45 natural paint production units have been certified for manufacturing paint from cow dung in Chhattisgarh. Nineteen units have started production.

Gauthans built for conservation and promotion in the state are rapidly transforming into rural industrial parks.

Together with other income-oriented activities, the production of natural paint from cow dung has begun.

So far, the functional units have produced 44,160 liters of natural paint and earned a profit of Rs 47.71 lakh from the sale of 26,292 liters. Now, approval has been given for 45 units to be constructed in the state.

Over 39.76L treated under Urban Slum Health Scheme

A total of 39,76,285 people in urban slums have been treated for free in Chhattisgarh under the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme.

Under the scheme, 120 MMUs equipped with doctors, paramedics, medical equipment and medicines delivering health Services.

This scheme has led to pathology tests for 9,18,484 people. In addition, free medicines have been distributed to 33,65,323 individuals. Among those who have benefited are 2,64,973 labourers.

In addition, 52,892 camps have been set up in slum settlements of 169 urban bodies.

The first phase of the scheme began in November 2020 in slums in 14 districts. It was extended to all urban areas in March 2022.

Cgarh to open Atmanand Hindi School in each district

After the popularity of Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Schools, the Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday decided to establish at least one Hindi Medium School of excellence in each district.

A total of 32 new schools of Hindi medium will come into existence from the coming academic session, a government statement said.

The buildings of the earmarked schools will be refurbished and the schools would be transformed not only qualitatively but aesthetically too.

The schools named after Swami Atmanand will be upgraded into multipurpose schools, the statement said.

At present 171 English medium schools are functioning across the state with 74,000 students. A total of three such English schools have been started in the capital city.

The establishment of these schools proved to be grand success. Earlier, only 57 children were studying in Raipurs RD Tiwari School (Hindi) but after upgrading it as Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School, it has 1,000 students.

The children admitted to these schools are from economically weak families. The government bears the entire cost of the fees, books and uniforms of students.

Bastar CCI praises new industrial policy

The Bastar Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) praised the new Industrial Policy of the Chhattisgarh government.

This was stated during the golden jubilee celebration of CCI at Bastar where Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was the chief guest.

Baghel, who was touring Jagdalpur to view the Bastar Dussehra, also attended the golden jubilee celebrations of CCI.

He felicitated former Presidents and members of CCI with shawls and mementos. A souvenir was released to mark 50 years of CCI.
